We have a young team.
We have some size.
We have guys who can post up.
We have guys playing hard.
We have a very good coach (I'm going to take his career record and the opinion of his colleagues - over the more over-reactive posters on this board.)

I don't see this team turning it around quickly but I do see an exciting team with the potential to get better.

Basketball is an 82 game season - and this team wasn't put together with the expectations of winning it all this year. Why get all excited over every loss? This to me is a fun team. Lots of young kids to get excited about every time the do anything well. No great expectations to live up to - at least in my mind.

These last few years - we've had teams that were terrible and had no room to grow. The Ewing years were great - but a roller coaster every year you though you could win but never did. To me this team is all upside.

we are 0-3
we have a coach that sits young guys
our post up players cant stay out of foul trouble
when young guys play hard the HOF coach yanks them
the very good coach apparently left his knowledge of the game at his old job

until I see something different nothing has changed with this team

I really like the way the team is playing Defense. I too wish the young guys were playing more but you look today, they all played 20 minutes or very close to it. I think thats all you can ask for especially when you have 2 players that were picked 21 and 30 in the draft. How many other players that were drafted in that range are playing 20 minutes on any given night? I think we're going to see Frye alot more, hes going to be getting 25-30 minutes every game, we'll see a steady progression of his MPG. This isn't something that just happens overnite guys, it takes time, the season is ONLY 3 games old.

fishmike, you know I hate the 0-3 just as much as everyone, but consider this..

The first game, Ariza and Nate only played not even 10 minutes each. The second game, Frye saw meaningful time as did Ariza. This game, all 3 guys and Ariza played meaningful minutes. There is progress here. It may be a pain in the ars, but they are playing now. I really wouldn't be surprised if Frye plays the closing minutes next time, even for Davis. I'm not impressed with him right now.

Our only progress has been realizing how bad some of our players suck...if you want to call that progress go ahead. We already knew the rookies would be exciting. Progress to me would be actually seeing all of our players getting better individually and as a team and I'm not seeing that.

I don't what you do for a living - but I'm assuming someone watching you perform your job from a distance, for a couple of months, who was not a professional in your field - probably wouldn't be a very good judge. Are you really arrogant enough to judge LB after three games?

Last year at this time you know our rookies would be exciting? You must be clairvoyant. Must make being a fan boring.

Im almost sure that Larry will change his rotation and minutes as soon as next game. Count on that. Frye will play more. Lee will play more. Ariza will play more. Nate will play. Even Butler will play, but maybe not for next game. He just saw it today, and I can't think about Larry not realizing this: his youngsters are playing the right way better than most of his vets. Soon, maybe as soon as next game, there will be another change in the starting lineup and Ariza or Frye will start. Larry isn't dumb, he just has to embrace the youth movement because its the one that has been giving him the best effort...

Good post Knicksfan. I think what everyone needs to realize is that like it or not, rookies have to earn their time. You look at someone like Deron Williams out in Utah, he has clearly been the best PG on that team so far and will continue to be but he's getting around 18-20 minutes a game, just like our Knicks rookies. The rookies ALL played extremely well today and have now shown Larry that they can be counted in the clutch ESPECIALLY Frye. I think on this next road trip the rookies are going to continue to play well and we're going to see a decline in the minutes of Rose and JJ and the rise of Lee and Fryes minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if Ariza doesnt start because they need his enery off the bench but I think we'll see Frye inserted into the starting lineup over AD. I think AD is best used off the bench with the second unit (Craw, Nate, Ariza) who tend to miss alot more shots then the first unit and AD's defense, rebounding and leadership will be key there.

This takes time guys, have some patience, the Knicks aren't winning a championship there even if everything went perfect so lets sit back and watch the team grow.

Craw Nate Frye Ariza LEE the only exciting point of the game
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Gee - Only Five young players to get excited about. Yeah, last year was much better - this team is clearly going in the wrong direction.

Frye is the best complement to Curry in many ways. As we have seen in the two games he has played, Frye has been very good rebounding and defending, some of the reasons why AD starts at PF. But the advantage Frye has over AD is that he is a great shooter, and once Curry is double teamed, his objective should be to pass it to Frye for an open shot. Frye is definitely an offensive option in this team, and he should be there with Curry...

When the young guys were out there, playing as a team, I almost cried I was so happy. I'm very excited about the future of this team. I'm not ready to crucify Larry Brown yet - I'm having fun watching the situation develop.

Totally wrong attitude! The idea is to be unhappy. Expect immediate result - call the coach an senile. What's wrong with you? This team s*cks - time for a long to talk Simrud. If that doesn't get you depressed enough it's a two week stay with the man from LI.

Sorry.

so you are telling me that you were thrilled with the results of today's game? we could all be happy with the rookies playing and the defense but the fact remains we are 0-3 against very winnable teams when we have much harder teams o0n the horizon. hell, i was happy when they played ariza last year. did i like the results of the team? nope. i was happy two years ago when they played frank williams and sweetney. did i like the resultas of our team back then? nope. true, this is no way near a championship team but we should win games.even the bobcats won a game.

The bulls started 0-9 last year.

They actually recovered from an 0-9 start to finish the season 47-35 and earn the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Curry was on that team, Tony Davis was on that team.

I'm not worried.
