But that may be the only way to get it done. Abd we get rid of Mailk too. I'd do it, but damn that ratliff.

trading ariza and butler sucks, but id actualy do this trade too, cuase of we get the picks we spent on curry back an we get a backup PG and a starting SF I think this is the best trade proposal I've seen in a while, but I wonder if portand would really give up 2 picks....

I say Miles and Patterson for Taylor and Crawford would be better than giving up Butler and Ariza, and I don't like Ratcliff or Blake.

the tradeoff with ratliff is remember, h20's $$$'s come off for next year so ratliff's deal cancels that out next year, so it's really just one more year after that.

no way Portland does that. They don't need more young guys, they need veterans. Not to mention that Ariza and Butler aren't exactly stars. On top of that you pawn Malik and Penny off on them?! Crazy...

Why exactly is this deal good for Portland?

Plus you expect Portland to give us 2 picks??? Unreal.

penny is an expiring deal, they would want that.

it's really just a salary dump for them since that's what they want. they also want a veteran to show the youngsters (i.e. rose).

That's like saying the Knicks would want to trade for expiring contracts

What's Rose going to show them? How to play like you're washed up?

exchange rose for taylor and take away the two picks and I think portland might do it. but Im too lazy to check if the salarys match maybe ill do it later. portland unloads theo's and mile's contracts, get younger, and get two guts who can play the PF position in taylor and butler. that should be reason enough for them to do it

Isles, its nothing like that. No other franchise is as unconcerned with the salary cap as the Knicks are. Dallas comes close.

Portland does not want to be over the cap with a lottery team, that feautures primarily young players who make a little bit of money. Its pretty clear that they are rebuilding over there, and expiring contracts can help them accomplish that.

portland says they don't want to pay big dollars anymore. dmiles is a headcase that's out of favor with ownership. he's still a young player so they probably don't want to move him but moving the $30 mil owed to ratliff, as well as the $$$'s owed to miles is something they would look at. now to get them, we have to give them an expiring deal and that's penny. along with that, portland also said they want a veteran around for the younger players. although malik is not that great on the court, he still is a solid veteran to have around for them. now portland still gives up the best player in the draft so we'd have to give them two young players like ariza and butler. the two picks may be excessive but we're giving them a TON of salary relief and still giving them some young players in return so asking for a pick isn't that outlandish. something like that probably can work. there are probably a few tweaks to it but i think that's a type of trade they would look at.

Miles is next to untouchable now.

Only think getting him to NY is 17-20 Mill. in cap space.

We realistically can't offer that unless a 3rd team was involved, and even then I don't wanna do that. Too much $$$ to take on.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

You REALLY want Miles?

Fine...you need a 3rd team to guarantee ~20 Mill in cap space for John Nash.

Here's how its done:

Minnesota sends:

Kandi-Man
Fut. Pick

Minny Receives

Jamal Crawford

**************
*************

NY sends:

Jamal Crawford
A. Davis

NY Receives

Ratliff
Miles

**********

Portland sends:

Ratliff
Miles

Portland receives:

Kandi-man
A. Davis
Fut. Pick (Minny)

**********
**********

HAPPY?
