I'm sure you miss Allan now right? This team is in desperate need of a shooter, a pure shooter. Not someone erratic (Jcrawford, QRichardson) guard. You can say what you want about Allan (his lack of defense, ball handling skills) the one thing he did and did well (shoot the ball in the basket) is what we are in desperate need of!
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

You must be talking about the Allan Houston of 3 YEARS AGO !!! Man wake up, Allan didn't do anything but rehab over the past two years, it's not like we miss him now! I can't believe people still talk about that guy, and no I can tell u that haters don't miss him at all! Retired or not, it's been the same for three years now... Allan in a suit

From what I saw on Wednesday night, we need defense and better execution at the PG more.

We all were together and we all saw that it was poor execution by the ball handlers. How is q arratic. He knocked down quality shots with awesome confidence. Larry must have been trying to limit him or he must have been tired or something.

Right now even though the knicks didn't rebound or guy free throws, the game was lost with Crawford and the back to back turnovers in OT and his shot selection.

Allan WHO-ston?

Sorry. Already forgotten. Some shooting may have been nice, but a guy who can't rebound and can't pass, who is the ultimate one-dimensional player... no thanks.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

i dont think anyone dislikes allan houston. i certainly appreciate his skills, but at his age[34] and the fact that he unfortunately had an injury that wasnt going to heal, as a fan, im sure like others wanted the TEAM to move on. it would be nice to have a 100% healthy h20, but it wasnt a realistic option

and can't pass,

That's a misconception about him that has irritated me to this day. He may have only had 2-3 assists a game, but he was still very solid in that category.

I'm sure it also irritated his teammates as well.

Allan was my favorite player, and now that I have had time to reflect with a sober mind on his passing, he was not a very good passer by any stretch.

But it was pretty incredbile that he could put 22 ppg off of a jumpshot, when guys knew he would shoot it. He was what he was. You can't miss him now, he's been gone for so long that you really can't even think about what it would be like.

Its like wishing Penny was his old self. They are older now and done. 1 of them just doesn't realize it.

I'm not saying that I miss him in that sense..I'm saying the Knicks miss what he brought to the game..consistent outside scoring. We have not found anybody to reproduce that, period. Regardless if that's been 2-3 years because of his injury.

A lot of people AREN'T good at that though, but he was, and then for the few times he played with Sweetney last year, he did that well too. He was a solid fundamental passer. Nowhere near Marbury, not as good as Crawford, but still solid. Nothing flashy. In fact, those times he tried to be flashy and went behind his back or somethin, was when he got in trouble. Just remember, he only had 2 TOs a game.

Without a doubt a healthy Houston would have made us better. Even a semi-healthy Houston makes us better. There is room for one dimensional players in this league. Especially shooters and having him on the roster would definitely make this team more formidable. That being said, he isn't on the roster, you aren't going to convince the haters, so save your breath(fingers)
I just hope that people will like me
