can someone tell me how a 30 win team doesnt play their 6-11 8th pick in the draft PF when we sck upfront? give me a break, he should play 25+ minutes every game. i really do not want to see malik rose getting blocked by guards--hes a waste of time. i sense trouble here, like we really could be bad real bad, so bad that we could be OUT of it after 25 games. Better to play Frye now and if we can turn things around, we do it with the team we go forward with. playing davis and malik--are they bringing us to a championship? no--so play frye!

actually, this is the first time where they have been saying how we're going to pretty much suck early on. last year, i agree 100% but they set us up to expect crappy play early this year - from both lb AND isiah.

frye is the major question mark and the only real thing that bothered me last night. it was pretty bad that he didn't get in. you telling me he couldn't play out there with lafrentz for at least 5 mins in the 2nd quarter? makes no sense.

They don't understand how much the energy and quickness of youth can really change a game--weren't we supposed to get younger and faster? Then play the younger and faster guys!

Briggs has OVER-RATEd preseason all-stars going back 3 years now!

Snooze. Looks like a bit of a bumpy ride to start off, but we all knew to expect that, did we not? What drama! Maybe if we play well tomorrow we'll jump from bad real bad to a playoff contender. But that will only last until the next game. Gawd, you need to get over these daily histrionics.

Hopefully Frye will suck as bad as Bogut has so far.

I was so angry how they didn't play Frye. I can understand why they didn't play Lee a lot, but Frye HAS to get in the game. I mean, Isiah freaking said he would have drafted him over Bogut, and that guy went 10 and 17 and 13 and 9 in 2 games. And the Bucks were WORSE than us last year. Heck, why is Jerome James playing ahead of Frye, who sucked too. Heck, James is basically a waste of roster space right now. Mo T did decent, but even him. Frye NEEDS to be in there. If he doesn't get playing time, then not only are the Knicks wasting away a perfectly good player, a perfectly good pick, but they basically got NOTHING out of last season. Pathetic.

I am not being critical of Larry BTW in other ways. It was good to see Nate play a little, but Curry shouldn't be going freaking 42 minutes off the bat, even though he was solid. NO WAY Davis deserves 33 minutes. Crawford had 37 minutes. Marbury had freaking 42 minutes. That's a trend that just can't continue.

we won 30 games last year--the guy spent 4 months craving to draft this guy and we dont play him. maybe he can give us 15 8 2--i mean every second that malik rose and jerome james get over him is a waste of time. thats why i question whther lb is the right guy for the job. if he darko's frye, this season will be a waste.

LB's giving these players a shot--if nothing else than to show Zeke they don't have what it takes and need to be traded.

I agree. When you are a lotto team and you draft a 4 year guy from college, the whole point of it is to make your team better NOW. While I wouldn't have argued with Brown giving Frye like 10 or 15 minutes, I think it is ridiculous that Rose actually went in before Frye. I could understand why Taylor was the first PF off the bench (he was solid in preseason and he is a vet, btw he played very well last night) but I really thought Frye should have gotten those Malik Rose minutes at the very least. I hate adding to the Bynum-Frye debate thing we have had going on for a long time, but if Bynum (someone right out of High School) can get 6 minutes for the Lakers, a team that is better than ours right now, then Frye definitely should have gotten some minutes last night (btw, off topic but Bynum looked very good last night in those 5 minutes, very composed).

At least the Pistons won the championship 1 year and took the Spurs the distance the next year. The Knicks won 30 games last year. This is the same stuff they have been doing for 5, 6 years now and each time they have been getting worse. I don't question Larry's knowledge, b/c he's really a great bball mind, but Antonio is going to prolly retire after this year. He didn't even want to come to the Knicks. He barely played any pre season minutes. And Frye was real solid in pre season, including a great game against the Spurs. What is the point??? The Celtics played Ryan Gomes and they won! Not saying he was a huge player. But even if he just starts off for 15 minutes. You can't let a good player rot away like that.

you're right on that. Even getting Bynum involved for 5 minutes will pay dividens. he's two years away from starting, but he can help--2 block shots 2 rebounds using his length in the lane--and he was jipped on a shot that ws a goaltend, but neverthe less whether positive or negative, he got in there for some burn which is important and was able to help his team a bit.

i mean if ariza nate and barnes played--where the h is frye i have confidence in frye

Briggs, you are absolutely right. Not playing Frye was horrible. This was openning night, not game 7 of some playoff game. Brown hasn't change abit. He doesn't play rookies. I fully expect that one of the rookies, Ariza, or Butler will be traded to get one of Brown's cronnies. Briggs you will have constant problems with Brown during the season. Frye could have actually help last night.
