Had he called time out when he got the ball at the end of the game with almost 2.5 seconds left, we would have given our self a chance at the end to win the game.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

I think that this is an indication of the BB IQ of the guy. He has not been able to see that winning games takes smarts, only thinks that "HE" can win and takes on too much. Larry B brings BB education to the team, and he doesn't look like he buys into it. Had trouble with Larry B in the Olympics and it now looks like he isn't listening again. Starbury must change his game and do the things that win ball games. Trying to drive into the lane cost him several of the 7 turnovers in the 1st quarter. He did manage to not do that later, but should be smart enough to start the game w/o the turnovers.

Get outta here, Steph's effort on D should show you he's clearly listening to Larry and making an effort. It's true he should've called the timeout, but at least he got the steal in the first place, and at least he put the team on his back down the stretch to get us into a position to win the game in the first place.

True. There is no way you can watch that game and place blame on Steph for our loss. He was our best player on the court down the stretch especially.

Steph is always good down the stretch because he plays his best ball when he is selfish--but that's what we don't need on this team.

Until Steph wins a playoff series anyone who believes in his game is crazy.

Should have called a timeout??????? Larry didn't instruct him to do so. That should have been stressed when Boston called a timeout to draw their last play. Don't blame it on Marb....

The guy is a professional ball player. Tie game, we have the ball with 2 seconds to go and timeouts remaining and you want him to be instructed to call a timeout?

did you really know there were 2 seconds left? Shut the eff up. I was watching the game and I cheered when he caught it and throw it up the other way.

Eff you guys...unless you really screamed "CALL TIME OUT" when he got the ball and aren't going by the announcer saying "he should have called time out" then you have problems and serious hindsight.

Snap out of it...

Damn, I forgot about not coming to UK after a loss.

You expect the fans to know better about time on the clock than the guys playing the game?

I'm pretty sure we called the last TO with 4.6 seconds

Actually yeah. The fans at home usually have a better idea how much time is left on the clock or what should be left. The players must depend on clocks, and score table who often play with clock timing. There wasn't 2 seconds left. Time started when he touch the ball, he had to motion for a time out. Also to be blount the officials blew that game. It took like 9 seconds (watched it again on TIVO) for Boston to get that ball inbounds. The official didn't even motion to his whistle at all.

Again, we did call our final timeout right after Boston scored that basket. We didn't have a time out left, if we did, Brown would have instructed his players to call it immediately after a rebound...

Breen and Clyde said the Knicks had another timeout. Are they wrong. I only counted the Knicks taking 2 fulls. I thought they had a 20 left.

wtf?
NY had a timeout left. Steph is supposed to know that. He should also know the rules on clock stoppage for end of game situations. He gets paid more than some coutries entire net worth to know those type of things.

You know its bad when Clyde covers it up by saying that time woulda ran out as Steph was motioning, as if the officials don't have the courtesy of replay and the power to reset the clock.

The player who has the ball would have to motion for the timeout in that case. Officials are not allowed to put back time to help out a player who had to motion for timeout. Its 2 seconds not like 10. I submit that time wasn't enough to catch the ball and turn to the official and call a timeout (all which the player with the ball must do), remember you have to have full control to call time out now (Starks rule).

I dont agree with players not knowing how much time is left and/or expecting to be instructed to call a timeout.

This I agree with. You make a good case for Stephon not calling a timeout. Best case scenario, we have less than a second to pull of a play after timeout. Worst case, time runs out and no timeout. I'll live with what happened. Especially since that was not the main reason we lost the game.

If there was enough time to heave that shot, there was enough time to signal a TO. I've seen refs put time back on the clock in many o' game. He may not have gotten the full 2.5 secs but even .9 is enough to get a catch and shoot sitch.
