Isiah Thomas on Marbury's shift to shooting guard for a majority of possessions: "People make too much of being on or off. It's where you're most effective during a game. Everyone called me a point guard. I played off the ball a lot. You get penalized because you shoot the ball. The guys who can't shoot, they're real point guards. It's two different models. There's a Bob Cousy model and a Tiny Archibald model."

It's a blessing to be able to run a team and score at the same time. Marb has been able to average 20 and 8 throughout his career, and this season will be no different. The only difference will be the end result. Curry, Frye, Q, and Crawfford will all be better players all because of Marb's contributions.
to me, your 2 guard should be someone who is a good shooter and can pressure the defense with cuts/screens, etc.- someone like our own retired allan houston or rip hamilton- just 2 examples.
while marbury can hit outsite & mid range shots, I just haven't gotten the impression he is a good shooter
I suppose I'd be interested to see where he would stack with other 2's in terms of 3pt & mid range shooting- i.e., take out all his lay ups & other shots.

The way to describe Marb is neither as a PG nor SG, Marb is a combo guard who happens to be a hell of a super star. I just want for Marb to rebound and defend better. After that, he needs to retain all of the other intangibles that he has already and improve the other little things that he doesn't do well. Marb should average 28/8/4rbs/2 stls per game; he can do it.
