Jason Collier died from a sudden heart rhythm disturbance caused by an abnormally enlarged heart. If that were somehow detectable and his death anyhow preventable, not to suggest that anybody should be held responsible in any way, then that would be such a waste of a young man's life.

As for teams that care more about what the player can do for them on the playing field instead of their well being, well we don't have to get into that now.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

I wish for his sake they had known about the problem before hand and done all the tests with several doctors that the Knicks had the responsibility to do with Eddy. Unfortunately the Hawks had no way of knowing about his vulnerability beforehand apparently.

I read that story and I was thinking about Eddy. Like the article said, they could actually take Collier's heart out and weigh it- who knows about eddy. Maybe the one expert we didn't listen to is right.

I feel horrible for his family. Its certainly going to be in the back of my mind when watching curry play for us.
