On the eve of another new season for the Knicks I'm more hopeful than I've been in years. The addition of the rookies Frye, Lee and Robinson, and the trade for Curry suggest a promising future for the team.
This got me to thinking: It's been six years since Patrick left - here's my question: What if the Knicks had just blown up the team back then and rebuilt? Could the past five years possibly have been any more painful for the fans? The salary cap situation would be much better. We wouldn't have the bloated contracts of the older, mediocre players on this team, and we'd probably be emerging as a contender again.
I know hindsight is 20/20, but I've always wondered why it is so unacceptable to rebuild in New York? Could things possibly have been any worse?
With the number of promising young guys on our team now, I hope we're finally going to do it.

It's not so hard.
