Andrew Bogut 9ppg, 7rpg, 2apg, 1spg, 51%fg, 61%ft 28.8mpg
Channing Frye 10ppg, 4rpg, 1apg, 1spg, 1bpg, 50%fg, 57%ft, 19mpg

The numbers give Bogut the slight edge, but Bogut plays 50% of 10 minutes more per game. This leads me to believe that if Channing were playing similar minutes he would have a sizeable advanage in all categories and be tied in apg. I feel good about having a young guy who is on par with the #1 pick while playing significantly less minutes.

I'd love to hear other peoples take on this. We should be able to ride this thread into the season opener at least right?

Frye is the real deal, but he may not play much under Larry; especially with the glut at PF/C

Frye would average about 15ppg and 6rpg and 1.5bpg in 30mpg, which is about what he did in college. The reason I've always liked him is I didn't feel like he would have to adjust his game too much for the pros. It's a shame he won't get enough minutes this year. I'm really fearing the idiot "veteran" lineups we have to watch. How many games of Penny and AD getting shat on will we have to watch before Larry "discovers" Frye, Ariza and Lee?

Let's wait and see. I sure hope that we are wrong about how Larry will use our youngins...I personally want Frye in the starting lineup....

Marb, Q, Ariza, Frye, and Curry is a lineup that will put fear in the opponent's mind. Marb, Q, Frye and Curry can all score...Frye, Reezy, and Q are average defenders....I am hoping that Brown sees the light..

Rookies need that time to learn. Pre-season is not Regular season which is DEFINITLY not Playoff time. Every rookie will have bumps, and you need veterans to show the kids whats up. Especially point guards who always struggle when they first get into the league.

I think Larry knows what he's doing, and he's going to make the kids earn their minutes. I dont mind someone like Antonio getting minutes, or even Malik Rose. I just hope we dont waste those minutes on Mo Taylor and Penny. Wasnt Penny a PG at one time? Cant he play backup PG?

But I also feel that Channing will have a good pro career, and is more advanced than Andrew at this point. Dont know what the future holds, but if Channing can be a stronger rebounder, I think he'll compliment Eddy Curry perfectly.

I'm pretty sure that if those guys are getting "Shat on" Larry will sit em and put the kids in, like he's been doing the entire pre season. Take note who has ALWAYS closed the games. Frye has been in there, with Crawford, Ariza and Nate. I'm sure they'll have Marbury in, and they will have decisions to make on the rotations with Q and Craw, but I have a feeling they really like Frye and Ariza at the end of the games. Those 2 will get their minutes.

Let's wait two or three years from now and then see who the better player is. I say Bogut, without hesitation.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't know, I keep getting this feeling that LB is pushing IT to trade one of those young guys for some "veteran"/role players. I don't think Frye will get as much time as I thought he would before the start of pre-season. AD will get about 30 mpg at the 4/5. Curry will get 31-32 mpg at 5. That leaves around 34 mins for Rose, Taylor, Frye, Butler, and Lee to split at the 4 and 5. Unless you are telling me that Rose and Taylor are completely out of LB's rotation (not buying it). Lets be conservative and say that both Rose will get atleast 6 mins per game at either (4 or 5). You are now down to about 28 mins for Taylor, Frye, Butler and Lee (who may have the roughest time because he will find it difficult to play 3s and will find it very difficult to play 5s). Bottom line some of these forwards/centers will miss some serious playing time. Many DNPCD in the future (not forseeing any injuries of course).

Killa, can we atleast wait until the 2 players have played 25 regular season games or so? I'm not much into comparing preseason games. Lets do it after 25 regular season games. If we're going to compare pre-seasons then Frye has the better numbers but you also have to look at opposing teams and many other factors. Lets do it when the games count and matter.

don't let 'em steer ya Killa. good thread. what most intruiges me is the fact that bogut has played so many more min's per than frye, and both w/very high %. (my speculation ofcourse) but i think they will both be very productive players just short of allstar status. my prediction is ofcourse based on preseason AND college.

Well, I hope you're right, but I think more likely we'll see Marbury and Curry closing games and not having any experience in pre-season closing games together. I'm not saying I wanted to Marbury and Curry logging heavy in the pre, but I don't think we should take the idea away that the rooks will be closing out close games when they count.
