I was watching one of those hour long NFL shows and they just went really in-depth with how guys line up and the line of scrimmage and different plays that are ran, and what players and teams do this and that, and they had diagrams and slow-motion, and writing on the screen, and I thought to myself:

Where is the analysis like this of NBA games?!?!?!?

I wanna see some diagrams beign drawn, some damn x's and o's, I want detailed analysis, and explanation, not stupidity like:

Can Larry, Isiah, and Steph co-exist?

That is not analysis thats GOSSIP!!!!

NBA needs to step up to the plate on this. There are so many shows on the NFL and they only play 16 games!! Do they make that much more than the NBA. They have shows on HBO and everything.

I want a show for the inteligent and knowledgable NBA fan. A show for US, not necassarily dedicated to the Knicks (cause thats a pipe dream) but a real full-blown NBA show with some substance.

Good point Killa. Mark Cuban spoke about this not to long ago when he gave his 2cents on the NBA dress code and he specifically mentioned that he thinks there are bigger problems in the NBA, pretty much said what you just said. The announcers are never breaking down plays they are always talking about totally random things, it gets REALLY annoying and almost every single play by play guy on the nationally televised guys does this. Another thing that the NFL has done is that the NFL doesn't like the focus to be on players on the field, they don't want anyone to be bigger then the game. They haven't been able to stop the End-Zone dances but they have been able to make sure that EVERY player wears an NFL uniform the same exact way, socks have to be up to a certain point and if they arent then your fined. This is a totally different way of marketing your sport compared to the way the NBA markets their players. The NFL markets its teams more then its players, another thing that sets them apart.

I really think what sets the NFL apart from every other sport right now is the fact that the owners have the strongest grip over the players union and can make most decisions without even having to worry about the wrath it may casue in the union. The NFL is a well-oiled machine and has set themselves apart from other sports. The NBA and David Stern should take a look at how Paul Taglibue is running things in every area, from broadcasting, to pregame to marketing, everything

those ESPN NBA broadcasts are HORRIBLE. I don't care at all about Greg Anthony, Tim Legler or that bald dude, and don't get me started on Steven A. Smith....

Those guys on TNT are at least entertaining, but as far as broadcasts, they speak the most sense when analyzing bball.

There really needs to be more bball coverage here in Canada - specifically the west coast. The only way I can watch a Knicks game is by travelling down to Seattle for a live game

I like Steven A. Smith he is the only person with anything posative to say about the Knicks, as far as an analyzing the game only former coaches are go at that.

Yep, Doug Collins is the best at it. He breaks down a play within two seconds. Tells you what a team needs to do to adjust and gives you a great draw up plan of crunch time decisions. But by itself BB is a game not so much of gameplanning but execution. I think Riley said this awhile back after a tough losses on one of those infamous Knick west coast trips. While NFL games can be won or loss based on gameplanning.
Besides, would you really want to listen to 30 minutes of Phil Jackson and Tex Winters talk about the triangle offense or would you just scream "yeah or you could just play Jordan, Pippen, Kobe or Shaq as much as you can."

I'd love more analysis- the NFL has to do it because they only play 16 games a year- they need all that pre game stuff to sell ads.

I'd love to watch a pre game where they talk about what the opponent is doing in terms of its style, sets, etc.

I'd certainly watch that over the fantasy b.s. they do on NBA TV. Please!
