NY trades David Lee, Trevor Ariza, Mo Taylor and Spurs 06 #1
NY recieves Mike Miller, Jake Tsakalidis

Marbury
Crawford
Miller
Davis
Curry
bench: Nate, Q, Frye, Butler, JJ/Jakes (whoever eats fewer donuts that day)

Mike has a PGs handle, a killer mid range game, is a gifted athlete, is 25 and is IMO a perfect glue type player. very high BB IQ. Not sure Memphis goes for it but its a decent package.

Maybe the worst trade idea of 2005.

I hope that was a joke...

Hmmm, take out Ariza, put in Crawford, take out the Spurs #1 and that would definitely sound good!

Marbury
Miller
Ariza
Frye
Curry

That's a complete team! And Miller and Frye can just switch on matchups, no problem.

I'm impatient with Taylor, Rose, James, and Penny.

lets put it in perspective. You trade a #30 pick, a mid 2nd rounder, probably the last pick in next year's weak draft and a PF you would be a happy to lose for a bag of balls. You get back? One of the more versatile wing players in the league. Multi skilled, former ROY, and a perfect fit at 25 with what your trying to do. I like Ariza and Lee a lot. I would have suggested Q, Rose or some other crap, but you have to give up talent to get it back.

If you think Mike Miller is a ho-hum 12/4/3 guy your wrong. He's a guy that makes everyone around him better, and can play all 3 wing positions at any given time.

I'm not impatient. I have no problem waiting on Reezy Lee and the rest. But this would certainly speed up the process. Its actually LB/Isiah I'm more worried about in the patience catagory.

no way my man, mike miller is someone you get with just an ending contract. He has had injury problems galore--we dont need to trade anyone right now. I would've preferred to keep our PICKS instead of Lee--given that we might be in the lottery? again this year--we can do better than Lee--not that he is a bad player--but we have different needs --as in we couldve looked towards a star type player/ending contracts/picks--but we no longer have that ability--nor do we get a lottery pick if we do stink[i hope not i hope not i hope not]
No way do we trade Ariza--to me Ariza is just about untouchable unless he was a piece to get us a Brand etc...

I think you overvalue Brand and undervalue Mike. My friend is in love with Jason Williams, so when we are watching BB he's got the Grizz games on. I probably have seen 40-50 over the last few years. Everytime I watch MM is the best player on that team. Posey was damn good also. Gasol the most overrated guy ever en route to being the next KVH.

That package is the max obviously... funny you mention Brand. I posted this as a follow up on another board

ahhh... I see there is one forum left on the internet your still allowed to post on. Good for you! I'm happy for you. Move out of mom's basement and you will be on a roll.

Anyway... to me there are 2 factors at work. How much you value Marbury and how long you think Brown will stay. If Brown gives us a 5-6 year Phili type run I say let Isiah focus on the draft (only thing he's proved to be VERY good at) and let Larry Brown be the teacher he's renowned to be.

If you think LB is going to give you 2-3 years (remember he's old and has tons of health issues) and its worth taking a run at this while Marbury is playing at the level he's playing at now than I think a guy like Mike Miller makes a lot of sense.

If the latter is the case take it out a step further and look for Brand at the deadline. Penny's expiring deal, Nate and Frye for Brand leaves you with
Marbury
Q
Miller
Brand
Curry
bench: Crawford, JJ, Butler, Barnes, Rose, Jake

I'm just staying in line with typical Knick's thinking...

If it were up to me I would never have signed JJ in the first place, probably release Mo T and build through the draft and play the kids, but this is NY, Isiah and Larry Brown.

fish I have seen the grizz a lot also, even when I go to memphis with my friend to see his children. I think that Miller is a fine player, but we obviously don't feel the same way about miller, I don't think he is as good as you portray him to be....

Mike Miller is GREAT, and I mean GREAT shooter. He definitely has one of the purest jumpers in the league, it is a thing of beauty.

And while he is athletic, he is very poor defensively. He missed many minutes in the playoffs against the suns because of that.

Injury prone too. That deal is way too much for him. Tsakaledis is still in the NBA?

mike miller is essentially allan houston-

he would be great at the 3

but, I wouldn't be surprised if you could get wally z and essentially, he's at this point a poorer version of miller & would come a lot cheaper than him.

I'd do the trade in a heartbeat. would miss lee, but miller is a major upgrade for either the 3 or 2.

Edit: if we plan on retaining marbs, switching in craw for this deal would be ideal so that we could keep either reeza or lee (or both).
