These cats at espn seem to have a real problem with the Knicks. Most of them got the team finishing 4th in our division. The only team I see that can somewhat compete with us is the Nets. Boston has no chance because they have no point, Philly might have something but, really their two bigs won't be able to handle Curry and our bench is superior to theirs and there is nothing the Raptors can do to stop anybody on our team. This is our year! Pass me some more of that kool-aid Nolad

Marc Stein wrote this: If you believe Larry Brown is worth 10 extra wins, New York should be back in playoff contention. At the very least, you can believe that the Knicks will be interesting again. Finally.

Will Perdue had this to say: Larry, Larry, Larry. With all your health problems, why would you take on this enormous task? I just hope his head does not explode while trying to get this team to play the right way. Clean up on aisle nine.

Eric Neel(who the hell is he): It's New York, so people will pay attention, but Brown and Curry aren't really going to make that much of a difference

Hollinger(he's just stupid): 30-win talent, but could be a 40-win team solely because of Larry Brown. Fly in ointment is that Brown's teams tend to start very slowly in his first year on the job

Chad Ford(really who listens to this guy): Either the combo of Larry Brown and Eddy Curry are enough to make the Knicks a contender or someone (read Isiah) is losing his job. On paper, they should be a playoff team, and if they're not, Brown will be the first to push for changes. Pack your bags, Steph.

John Carrol(cocaine is a helluva drug): Larry Brown will change the culture of the past few years and help improve New York's defense, shot selection and ability to win close games. Look for the Knicks to slowly improve over the season, be a tough opponent every night, but be back in the lottery at the end of the year.

Chris Broussard(hmmm...FAG!): Larry Brown's biggest challenge since taking over the Clippers in 1992.

...don't most of them say we'll make the playoffs? I know at least two or three guys said the Knicks would be 6th in the East. I thought it was a fair assesment overall.

Where do you see playoofs. Carrol said lottery, Broussard compared us to the freaking clippers, the Neel guy says Eddy Curry is not going to make much of a diffrence. They all can lick salty ballz in my humble opinion

brown and curry arent going to make much of a difference? I think I know whats going on here, some of the writers who've worked at espn have become knicks haters and now all of the other writers feel as if they have to hate the knicks too in order to be accepted in the organization. thats the only logical explanation cause most of those assessments arent even close to being objective.

With all due respect Larry DID take those Clippers to the playoffs. But I do see your point though.

Same old same old from the media. The people from that article that do matter are Jim O'Brien and Tim Legler both of whom chose the Knicks to finish 6th in the conference. I think thats pretty much on par with where they should finish this year. The rest of those guys have an agenda most of the time so same old same old.

Where is the problem with what these guys said? Stein was right on target... if Brown can get us 10 more wins, we'll be in playoff contention. And even if he can't, we'll still be interesting.

Perdue has a fair enough concern... all we heard about for so long was about Larry's health. He missed part of the season last year because of it, and wasn't sure whether or not he'd coach this year because of it.

Okay so this Neel guy really has nothing to say. A nice, short and useless generalization.

Hollinger is right... LB's teams always do take a while to pick up steam. Whether you want to argue about whether its a 30 win talent or 35 win talent with the ten game LB factor... still doesn't make that big of a difference.

Ford is right... IT has spent enough time tinkering with no results. If we don't get results this season, he's going to have to own up to that... and if LB can't win with Steph you can bet anything he'll want to shop him.

Everything Carrol said is true... and then he just assumes they'll be back in the lottery, which is up for debate and yet to be seen.

Broussard is also right... if you look at the teams LB has coached since hte Clippers, we're definitely the biggest challenge since.

I think its really mroe about the unknown. The Knicks is an unknown quantity, cuz its really a whole new team. They don't realize how much talent is on this team. They don't realize the generally great attitudes the guys have and the hunger that has permeated the entire team. These guys want to win BADLY. This is NOT LAST YEARS TEAM!!! These guys don't watch the team as closely as we do, so they don't see the passion of our young guys or the battles for playing time. From IT down to Barnes this team is full of guys who want to prove someone wrong. Look at each player and you'll see that they've been doubted, written off and gotten rid of by other teams. These guys are chomping at the bit to get after it. Our young guys all want it too. I just think these so called experts are missing the boat with this team.

The conf. rank they gave the Knicks went:

Stein: 9th
Sheridan: 12th
Purdue: 10th
O'Brien: 6th
Neel: 11th
Legler: 6th
Scoop: 7th
Hollinger: 9th
Ford: 6th
Carroll: 9th
Bucher: 8th
Broussard: 8th

6 out of 12 guys said we'd make the playoffs. Three guys said we'd be the 6th seed. Sounds about right to me.

Good take,

Lets put it this way, The media won't hold the team back if they are to win. When they put up 45 wins and get in the playoffs, they will be wrong, and we'll enjoy it more.

Thats some pictoral with quotes. YOU got the quotes an pictures all strung up in your bedroom? Covering the mirror? Making a hit list of "MEDIA"! Knick fan love!
