All I've seen from tonight's game at Dallas is the boxscore. Something that jumped out at me was Antonio Davis' line. He had 7 rebounds (4 offensive) in 15 minutes, which is obviously pretty decent for his first game. I also know he had 6 pts.

Does anyone have any further insight into how Davis looked tonight?

I also see Frye spent the night in foul trouble, with 5 fouls in just 11 minutes. So might this be a game that proves to Brown (and the fans) that Davis might be our best bet for now as the starter at PF?

Thanks for the input.

yea... pencil him in to start at the 4. He's everything you would expect him to be an more. I would say he starts and gets 20-25 minutes. He should finish also, limit him minutes because we are deep and we need to finish games. Whether he's out there with Curry or James to start its a no brainer IMO.

Right now at least until Q is 100% my starting line up is
Marbury/Crawford
Ariza/AD
Curry

Thats got scoring punch and great rebounding from the forwards. Crawford was also very impressive rebounding the ball. He really went after it and got inside for some key boards. Its obvious thats where his focus is.

He accumulated most of his stats in the 1st quarter, which incidentally was the Knicks best quarter. He was great on the offensive boards and pretty good defensively. Got to the line a bunch. Not bad for his first game in a long time. I think he can really help this year if he gets that spot in the rotation. Curry would be best with a guy who does the dirty work next too him...that means Davis and Lee.

Thanks. Sounds like Davis is just what this team needs: A heady veteran who can rebound and play defense and teach our up-and-coming front-liners a thing or two about those subjects.

Fish, I agree about that starting five, with Q subbing for Crawford once he is healthy. I love that we get a nice blend of scoring, defense and rebounding from that front line, which is why Ariza has to get a lot of minutes. And I also agree that Davis' minutes should be limited to well under 30 a night and that he should start and finish.

I think a big key will be the defense we get from the guards. If Marbury, Q and Crawford improve in this area, which they almost have to do just because of who the coach is, we will be a very formidable defensive team.

what was great to see was when nate got his own rebound on the shot...Davis was one of the 1st people up and pumped a fist into the air...i was like good team chemistry
