I would like to see what various guys can do with 35 minutes in a game. We have no PF yet. So rather than giving different guys a start here or there how about if we look at Lee there for 30 minutes tonight. Then Frye for 30 minutes. Lets see JJ for 30 minutes. Same with Curry. If they pick up 6 fouls by the 2nd so be it.. its preseason. Lets see Ariza at the 3 for a whole game, and Q at the 2.

I hate the 10 minutes with this group, 10 minutes with that group, etc.

agreed. It's weird, Brown is supposed to be one of the best in the business, and I have NO idea what he's up to in the preseason, except for giving the rooks some floor time.

The man works in mysterious ways. I think he's just tinkering around with lineups, experimenting to see what combinations do what kinds of things out on the floor. I agree, it's not necessarily the way I'd do it, but I trust Brown is learning about the team using his method and will use that knowledge to the team's benefit once the season starts. I think it's at least safe to say that he's seeing tons of stuff out there that none of us are really picking up on.

Of course it's tough because of the injuries. Q in particular, since JC has taken more of a PG role Q is really our only gunner out there on the perimeter. Having him healthy and playing big minutes will change the look of the team significantly I think.

Maybe Brown is trying to hide his real intent...experience coaches like Brown pretty much know what their lineups will be..

the problem with the rotations has been injuries and wanting to see what a number of guys can actually do.

I have no problem with holding Curry down to around 20mpg right now. I don't want to see him McDyess-ed in the pre-season for no reason. I think the rookies have all gotten good playing time. But it's hard to develop a rotation when Curry is being held back, JJ hasn't played and Q has only played twice.

Injuries are one issue. The other is he is evaluating talent. I don't follow any set rotations during pre-season. I sub guys in based on circumstance. If I have seniors and juniors that are banged up they sit. I already know what I'm going to get from them so there is no need to get them out there. The young guys get the time and I will adjust their playing time according to game situations. It's about evaluation and that is all. Don't worry about rotations now. The last two games you will see something closer to what will happen during the preseason
I just hope that people will like me

Didn't Brown say before the preseason even started that he was just going to experiment with linups and that whoever starts/plays how many minutes in preseason is no inidcator of his real rotation? I def remember him saying somethign to that extant.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I agree fish, to me staring Taylor one game and then Rose another game is a waste, really it is, we know what those guys can do...

We know what they can do, but do we know how they fit in with other players on the court? We can theorize and make good guesses but no one knows for sure til they actually get out there and play together. It's not just about evaluating individual players, it's about evaluating the chemistry and synergy of whole 5 man units.

I'm fine with him trying different lineups. I just dont get why Brewer has to play and Mo Taylor, Rose & Penny have to start. They should be buried on the bench

They should be buried under the garden.
