"When asked about his team's physical and mental breakdowns during the ugly 114-99 loss, Brown said: "A lot of what you just said is going to determine who's going to play. The guys that are committed to hustle back, make the extra pass, take the good shot, are probably the ones who are going to be out there in the guts of the game, or maybe at the beginning of the game.""

Well that eliminates about 90% of the current team. I honestly can't think of a collection of players that is as ill suited to play the way Larry Brown requires his team to play.

How many of these players are known to "hustle back, make the extra pass and take the good shot"?

If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

wow...pessimism...

ya know, you have to remember that the majority of this team is under 26 years old. THEY ARE REALLY YOUNG. I am going to give this group a couple of YEARS to develop before I demand results. That being said, I DO NOT EXPECT it will take that long. I think this team will get better by the month and by the end of this year, they will be a good team that is quickly getting better.

David Lee
Channing Frye
Nate Robinson
Marbury (although I hate to admit it)
Malik
A. Davis

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

maybe about 20% of the NBA does that. Funny how most of them are on the teams coached by JVG, Pop and formerly Larry.

NBA players have a funny way of doing what the coach says when their minutes are threatened. Its going to take a little time for these guys to adjust but they will, that is if they want to play. Of our core of players I think all but maybe 2 will do whatever it takes to get time on the floor. If Matbury and Crawford arent going to D than Nate and Penny are getting their minutes. Dont think it will happen the watch. I'm pretty sure Larry isnt going to be influenced to play guys because they are or arent favorites of Isiah.

Not only that, but Chauncey Billups did not play Larry Brown's way until he actually played under Larry Brown. When dude was with Minn. he did two things: shoot the ball and give KG the ball. If KG wasn't in the game, dude would shoot the bulk of the shots. No extra passing or hustling on D was involved in Chaucey's game. It was all about shooting.

These guys are young. It's going to all come down to who is willing to play the Larry Brown way. Those who want to, will. Those who don't make that transition, won't. It's as simple as that.

Chauncey played D for Carlisle. The demands on him by Brown forced an improvement in his shot selection. But Brown said it himself: the biggest difference is that Detroit already knew how to play

You are either very young or very immature. If it was meant as a joke u should so indicate. If you are serious I feel very sorry for someone who so little value for human life. It's fine not to like a player or his game but death? This is a game, it is for amusement, it is meant to entertain.

I disagree with your assessment, so far the knicks have at least tried their best to buy into larry browns system I think theyll get if fully in a relativley short amount of time(buy mid-season).based on what Ive seen so far the only players that may not adjust to brown are are curry, taylor, marbury, and james. according to my calculations thats only 22% of our current roster.
