I mean he wants to stay in Chi-town and Zeke says he won't cut him becuase the n.b.a isn't a charity case. Do we really need him now that Lee is showing he can really play? I'm torn on the issue because I don't see nothing wrong with having three legit centers. With Antonio, Eddy and Jerome will have more than enough girth to take on shaq and zo in miami. So should he retire or would you all rather have him in uniform next season?

That's a good question Boo. I for one would love to have Antonio in the lineup, we need a quality veteran big man who has played in the playoffs many times and has played in the playoffs with Larry Brown. I think Antonio would also really expediate the progression of Channing, Lee and he could keep helping Curry to become the player he can be.

I just don't think Antonio is going to want to play here in New York and thats unfortunate because he would be a huge player for us, if the case is that he doesn't want to play for us becuase he doesnt want to move away from Chicago then he should retire and forfeit the rest of his contract becuase like Isiah said, the NBA isn't a charity case and Antonio shouldn't be a baby while he's making 13 million bucks a year. Ridiculous.

I agree with you a little because they do need time to develop but what happens when we make the playoffs. It will be an easy sweep if all we have is our rookie big men to carry us. With Allan retiring we are fast losing all of our playoff experinced players. I think AD needs to be here just to add some kind of veteran leadership but, if hed dosen't show I won't be devestated because it's more of Lee, Fyre and Curry to go around

That is why we have trade deadline to address the issues that need to be addressed. We don't need to have a disgruntle player on our roster to spoil what we are trying to build...Let him go, and once we can show the league that we are a very successful bunch, players from everywhere will want to be part of our success.

Ad would be nice to have, he does bring some meaningful things to the game, but if he retires or is bought out, we have youngsters who I would love to see play.

AD is probably very near to done. I really don't want him messing up our chemistry. He doesn't want to be here and that's fine, just don't have him around unless he wants to fully get on board and act like a Pro.

I'd prefer if he retired, but I doubt he would do that. Maybe a buyout. Either way, he's old and we don't need him. All he'll do is take minutes away from our FUTURE players. I want to see the kids get as much burn as they can. It will only speed up their development and get them ready for later in the season when we push for the playoffs. I'm tired of watching these 50 year old guys wheezing down the court. Let our young studs run and press.

THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!

let AD he said himself he would retire before he goes to the knicks buy him out for like 1 mill and keep better players like barnes and barber on the team since houston left and i want AD to leave he has enough money let the knicks trade him back to chigaco at the deadline for timmy if we make a serious run and maybe someone was injured lol and then let him go lol im bored so i made this up
(im listening to old school hip hop got my brain in a different state of mind right now)

if AD retires he walks away from $13mm

Houston gets paid because its a medical problem and that has to be cleared by a league doctor. AD is fine. If he retires we are NOT obligated to pay him, and he cant sign with another team until next year when his deal has expired.

If he really wants to go back to Chicago, than he should pay the price...Zeke better not offer him no more than 5 millions to buy his contract...After all, we can definitely use that expiring contract by midseason.

Don't cut him. Let him retire if he chooses. Keep his expiring contract and let it expire along with Penny. Then trade MoT to Philly for Mashburn's expiring contract and a 2nd rounder. You will then have 3 HUGE contracts expring at seasons end.

Some folks on this board think that Zeke is stupid....The man knows exactly what he is doing. Our cap situation will be resolved no later than next season.

the only thing solving our cap problem next season is a plane crash. Lets just enjoy the young guys and put our faith in Larry coaching Crawford, Curry, Frye, NAte, Lee, Ariza and Jackie to the potential we all pray they have.

Dude! If Zeke trades both Rose and Mo by midseason and acquire expiring contracts while doing so, as long as he doesn't bring back another big contract, we will be under the cap. Keep in mind, Houston and now AD will no longer be on our payroll. We can orchestrate a trade with Philly for Mash's contract.

AD is the type of player we need. Someone who can tutor, Curry, Frye, Lee and James. That being said if he is not into it, then he becomes a problem. The team needs a guy who can grab bounds and not demand the ball offensively. Lee fits that role and so does AD. I hope he realizes what he can offer and acts like a role model for the team.

As for the cap, I think IT is trying to figure out a way to make a rund for Lebron next year. That is his ultimate plan now. He has a front court of the future in place and now neeeds to small man superstar to bring it all together.

I agree that he knows what he's doing and probably won't do anything stupid with AD's contract. Isiah long ago found a resolution to a cap situation: simply stop caring about how Dolan's expenses.

I think AD stays at least until IT can trade his expiring contract.

Not entirely true... the salaries of Jerome Williams and Houston will still be on the books, just not on the Luxury tax. We will not have cap space to sign anyone.
