Do you think Larry Brown and Isiah can mold him into a defensive beast who's a 20+, 10+, 2+ player, or does he just not have good timing and in the best case scenario might be a gifted scorer who's average on defense (maybe 20/7.5/1)?

This is exactly what I expect to see happen. They (and Mark Aguirre) will bring out the defensive side of Curry yet to show itself during his time in Chicago.

IMO Eddy will be able to get us 20/8/2 this year. I'd like to see him increase his boards to 10+, which could happen sooner than later if attention is focused on that area of his training by the Knicks staff.

They'll also help him play smarter D. Once Eddy gets accustomed to putting in defensive effort without picking up bad fouls, he'll be an absolute MONSTER.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

He's only 22, he has the ability to do whatever he wants--once Larry gets through to him how great he can be "he'll be an absolute MONSTER."

I hope you're right. I think Curry was working with Bill Cartwright, who obviously knows a lot about what it takes to be a good C in this league, in Chicago. It's not like he was never taught anything.

Last season Curry put up 16.1 pts, 5.4 rebs, .33 stls, .92 blks, .6 asts, 2.59 TOs, on .538 FG%, and .72 FT% in 28.7 mpg.

I think the focuses with Curry are going to be rebounding and defense. I'm going to assume 30 mpg. So, with that, I invision something like:

18 ppg, 6.5 rpg, .5 stls, 1.2 blks, 1 ast, 2 TOs, .52 FG%, .72 FT% in 30 mpg. If we got that, I think there'd be a lot of reason to celebrate over this trade.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

i agree closer to what gunns has posted. larry brown was not too much of a factor with ben wallace and i dont expect patrick ewing numbers from eddie curry.

the real concern should be can eddie curry average 32 minutes per game?

Cartwright was a terrible rebounder and shot blocker, what was he gonna show him. It's pretty obvious Brown doesn't think he learned much in Chicago.

if your refering to wallace's defence or rebounding, how much better can larry or anyone else for that matter make him?
i think he'll be more of a focal point on offence this year, so 1 more point than last year is'nt realistic. also, LB WILL get him following his shot. that alone will get him at least 3 more rbs per. not to mention the emphasis on defence.
my guess = 20pts/10rbs/1.5-2.0blks i'd be wet w/those numbers. i mean alright.

Curry will be an average defensive C and rebounder by the end of the season, and will become a force over time.

I say let him get in playing shape first, then we'll see. Right now he is understandably totally out of shape.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Although I won't say that he's totally out of shape, I do agree that we can better gauge Eddy Curry's improvement on D and boards when he's in 100% game shape.

Larry Brown is the perfect coach to ensure that Eddy won't slack in those two areas.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

if Curry can stay healthy, I expect the lineup that we will have on the court with to greatly improve his production. He will be featured in every play and the guys that he will share the frontcourt with: James, Lee, Frye, Ariza and Q will definitely enhance the areas that Curry is not known for.

After watching the game live last night there is a reason that curry doesn't rebound he doesn't try to move or get into position when the ball is released....

And he is tremendous, he looks so out of shape and overweight
