Knicks Bring Back Brewer
14th October, 2005 - 2:37 pm
Press Release - New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that guard Jamison Brewer has been signed as a free agent. As per club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.

Brewer, 6-4, 180-pounds, is a four-year NBA veteran with career averages of 1.6 points and 1.0 assists in 54 career games for Indiana and New York. Last season, the Knicks signed the East Point, GA-native as a free agent on Aug. 27, 2004, but was traded to the San Antonio Spurs on Feb. 24, 2005 in a three-player deal. [READ]

Awesome! Hopefully he gets some playing time in preseason, I love watching how he plays defense. After preseason though we can get rid of him again since he won't be getting any playing time

"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

i saw every knick game last season and i dont have any particularly distinct memories of him doing anything, still thought if IT didnt feel and of the pg's we have are LB type pg's he could have at least picked up brewer before or during training camp, I cant see this signing making much if any difference

He'll defend the rest of the points so hard they'll be ready for anything. Isiah continues to impress me with all of the talent he's accumulating. Anyone else feel like we robbed the Spurs two first rounders, Malik Rose and we get Brewer back for Nazr Mohammed. Robbed em
"We need another shot blocker and we need more girth in the middle, once that happens we have a chance to be a pretty decent team" Isiah on draft night

yeah..you do have a point, none of the knick guards will learn how to deal with defensive pressure by being guarded by starbury

Yeah, I loved that, but that's probably my only positive memory of him from all of last season. I think Solace's NBDL theory might be accurate.

I never heard anywhere that teams had to send to the nbdl but i wouldnt be surpised if it were true cuase if brewer is worth signing why didnt popovitch use him in SA, or it could mean that a trade is coming.... but that might just be blind optimism talking.

I don't believe we can send Brewer to the NBDL, I thought it was only for first and second year players. Jackie may be our lone DLer.

Yes! It was vicious too......He had a few good ones...Actually all his dunks were electrifying!!!!

I also like the bounce pass alley-oop he threw Ariza. That was sick. They were moving at breakneck speed from what I remember.
