Well, clearly our next step should be to improve the frontcourt. We have our centers (Curry and James), now we need to fill in the holes. One team who I think would make an ideal trading partner is Utah. They have two overpriced contracts that they don't want (Okur and Boozer) and one young stud who I'd love to get (Andrei Kirilenko). So, if we took Okur, Boozer and Kirilenko, and gave them the expiring Penny Hardaway contract, Maurice Taylor (shorter deal than Okur), Trevor Ariza (replacement for Kiri) and Channing Frye (replacement for Boozer) they'd have to do it, no? Saves them a ton of money. I'm no Boozer fan, but I think it would make us a serious contender. Thoughts?

Successful Scenario
Due to New York and Utah being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New York and Utah had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Trade ID
Every trade made by fans is allocated a unique Trade ID which you can share with friends and fellow basketball fans to allow them to see your trade scenario. The Trade ID for this scenario is 2595574.

Utah invested a lot of money in those guys and if they feel they can't get it done, enough to trade all 3, then why do we want them, especially at those prices... giving up frye and Ariza this early in their careers on cheap rookie contracts for guys outside of kirilenko who are overpaid and not really proven for more than 2 seasons.. I think this is a bad deal...

Take Kirilenko out of the equation and Utah will take you on on it. They like Frye if you believe him and his agent and various reports pre-draft. I am not that big of a Boozer fan. He is overpaid now in my opinion. I don't share these thoughts that he can somehow become the new Malone. Okur will be the whipping boy in NY. As bad as Isiah takes on bad contracts to me this would be bad. Utah wanted to spend money and spent it. I vote no. btw, Why does Ariza and Frye need to be included in all these trade scenarios. I rather trade Lee than does guys. Frye has good upside.

good post, but you know whats even funnier, It is amazing how the knicks get killed about their cap and teams like the Jazz are praised for being cost conscious... that is until they take the step in trying to get better and sign some FA's.... well how smart are the jazz now? Yet again people want us to take their trash, just so they can complain how fiscally irresponsible we are..... hahaha.. go figure....

Wow.... now I remember why I stayed away from this place for awhile. Yeah, I'm sure the Jazz are DYING to get rid of AK47 and Boozer (who cares about Ohkur)... for PENNY FRIGGIN HARDAWAY, MO TAYLOR, and Ariza.

Can someone please tell me why Utah would want to do this, besides for cap space. (Cap space is the most over-rated term in the whole league, as almost every team WASTES the **** out of it.)

Okay, so tell me... Okur is a complete waste of $52MM, Utah found out Boozer can't play defense for $68MM. A team is willing to erase $120MM worth of your mistakes and you don't listen? It's not about cap space, but the Jazz were far and away from being a playoff team last year.

The NBA is a business. Sure, maybe the Jazz would require a little more than Ariza and Frye on the talent end of the deal. Throw in Lee, Nate, whatever... AK47 would not be an easy piece to get, but erase Utah's debt and they'd have to consider it.

If AK 47 is healthy, I really doubt he's tradeable unless we give up every trade asset we have. I would consider a deal of Penny and one young player for Boozer, but that wouldn't be plan A for use an expiring contract.

asking for AK47 will go down about as well as asking for Carmello or other star. Before he got hurt I would say he was a top 10-15 player last year. Boozer would be a good fit IMO, but I think its premature. I think the best thing now is patience and seeing what Lee and Frye develop into.

Yeah, it's premature. All teams have high hopes right now. Wait 'til some teams get off to really bad starts, lose hopes of making the playoffs, and are ready to get rid of good but overpriced players.

What is wrong with you fans? Can you all please wait for a good year before suggesting a trade? for 4 years, we've been doing nothing but rotating players in and out. We have a bunch of young guys that will need time to get better, let's at least give them a good season to do so. all of the good teams have had their roster for a while....Isiah has done a wonderful job bringing in players, but he also need time to develop them..

for once I agree w/ Dido. Unless some team has a firesale at the deadline and we can get a high caliber player for a song and a dance (or a Penny) then I say patience is key at this point. Detroit got lucky with getting Sheed. Something like that at the deadline would be great, but otherwise I say patience over the next couple years is key. Ariza, Frye, Nate, Curry, Lee and Butler are all 22 or younger. Crawford and Q are 25ish. Now is the time to let this group play and develop some chemistry. There's no glaring need in that group. You have size, skill, speed, rebounding, shooting, ball handling, shot blocking... pretty much everything. I dont know how good these guys will be on the NBA level, but the level of talent is worth waiting on IMO

Newyorkers are so impatient, it is absurd. They want quick production without having to work for it. That is the problem with today's generation, they want everything quickly. Microwave, cell phone, internet, steroid, etc. Teams that take time to develop their talents normally achieve dynasty standards....We have a pretty good chance at becoming a dynasty if we are patient.. Ariza, Frye, Nate, Curry, Lee and Butler are all 22 or younger. Crawford and Q are 25ish, Marb is 28 and the draft picks that we have acquired will also add to our collection of players that will be around for a good five years.

I am a very logical man Nalod....if you think about it, all of my complaints have been to trade the old to allow the young and talented players room to develop. I.E., trade Kurt to create room for Sweetny etc. I have even asked that TT (whom I thought was a good addition) be traded because he failed to deliver after given ample amound of playing time.

Nate must be really good, because Brown has mentioned his name at least twice during his interview with David L.

Zzz... Dido talks, but all I hear are the mass ramblings of someone with terrible grammar.

I say go for the gold, if you can get it... maybe it's premature, but I want a championship.

You guys are probably right, though. Unless Utah goes through another 20 win season, they're not trading Kiri.
