There's no way the hornets would want spree anymore, they have Corey Now.

Wizards trade Alexander for first-round pick

The Washington Wizards traded guard Courtney Alexander to New Orleans for the Hornets' first-round pick -- the 17th overall -- in Wednesday's NBA draft, ESPN's David Aldridge reported Tuesday.

The Wizards now hold the 11th and 17th picks in the first round.
Washington acquired Alexander from Dallas in February of 2001 along with Christian Laettner, Hubert Davis, Etan Thomas and Loy Vaught in exchange for Juwan Howard, Calvin Booth and Obinna Ekezie.

The 6-foot-5 Alexander averaged 17.0 points with the Wizards in 27 games, shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 38.9 percent on 3-pointers. His scoring -- and his role -- decreased with the return of Michael Jordan last season. Alexander averaged just 9.8 points and made only 27.8 percent of his 3-point attempts in 56 games

I'm surprised by this. I know Alexander had a bad season but I thought the Wiz had high hopes of him.

That means the Wiz will take a small forward, either Woods or Jeffries at 11 and then probably going big at 17. Maybe Jiri Welsh, too, since he plays PG/SG/SF and they need a PG and SF.

the wiz got hosed. alexander, for the #17 pick? you've got to be kidding me. alexander is worth a pick from 5 to 13.

courtney's got game.

look for dickau to go at the 17th pick if he's on the board.

New Orleans got a steal in this one Alexander has proven several times that he will produce given the minutes...
