now that we have curry, no argument anymore...if anything, expensive, but like one writer mentioned, I'd take 6/6 from him at this point and be ecstatic.

Are you joking?

6ppg and 6rpg would be great. Really, it's more about him being an effective pressence for 20mpg. If he can block a few shots and keep guys out of the lane, it will have a tremendous effect on our perimeter and interior D. If he does that, I think he's worth the money. Let other teams worry about how much we're paying him.

everyone thinks Spudd or Muggsy when they want to talk about Nate, I see a tougher Calvin Murphy.

Brown stopped a scrimmage to express his displeasure with the way Robinson was running the offense.
"You've got to get used to it," Robinson said afterward. "He said you need a great point guard to be a great team. I just take that into consideration that he wants me to be great. They don't call me Nate the Great for nothing. I've got to live up to the name and live up to the expectations that he wants. He's hard on me and I love it."

And in a related story,
Jerome James was admonished for standing still
"You've got to get used to it," James said afterward. "Besides, they don't call me Big Game James for nothing. Are we playing a game right now? No we are not. Does Big Game need to be moving around a lot when he's not even playing a game in the first place? No he does not. This is practice, man. Practice. Coach knows all about that, he's been there before. Big James will do plenty of moving around when Big James is playing in a game. In . . .a . . game. Plenty of moving, man. Big Game will be moving plenty. My fans know this, they're all over Big Game."

I say, given a bit of luck with health, they will start to be special towards the end of next year.

LMAO those Big Game pics deserved their own thread.
We would have a field day naming the captions on those...

That's just what Big Game can develop into for us- an enforcer.

He can make sure no one violates the "No Layup" rule.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

One thing to remember too, is that we have to stop judging James off his time with the Sonics. They played a horrible style of ball for any big man. He will be much less prone to being put in bad situations here. With LB as coach we should have better exterior D and this will make him more effective at blocking shots. He'll also be given better possessions on offense. He won't have to have big #s in order to be effective for us. I'm REAL glad we have him. I always felt that you can't have enough quality 7'ers.

Ooh this is shaping up. Knick James gets the Mahorn role. Eddie's gonna be James Edwards, a great low-post scorer. SuperFrye will be a cross between Salley and Laimbeer if he grows his rebounding and edge. And believe it or not, Lee could be our Rodman with more O.

You know i was thinking about that the other day.

I think the Edwards/Curry comparison as far as roles is on point.....
James/Mahorn
Frye/Laimber(because of jumpshot)
Isiah/Marbs
Craw/Vinnie Johnson
Q/Aguirre (very similiar)
Ariza/Rodman
Lee/Sally

It sure does look similiar

Dumars was under control.......the only person close to that is Houston.

Nate, Rose, Taylor and Penny are tough to make that a comparrison to.....besides I don't think any of us care too much about them....except for Nate of course.

so why do Reggie Evans and Nick Collison look like ballplayers out there

wish people would stop making excues for this slouch. Except for a couple of playoff games in contract years (what a coinkidink) he has been terrible. Hopefully he can improve under LB. But even improving to 6 pts 6 rebs it still was a horrible signing. Comparable centers the last 2 years with the exception of Foyle got 3 yr 3-4 mill. IT gave him the full MLE . This aint charity is bullshix. James shoulda got 3 yrs at 3-4 mill per - NO MAAS! Whats done is done but from the training camp reports, he is looking like the 30 mil dog eating a roster spot . In Sea he had the cancer rep. Wonder what happens if he winds up in the doghouse here.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

I dont think James will get more than 10 minutes a game this year. He doesnt run the floor and he doesnt have any skills on the offensvie end and isnt a defensive stopper. The rookies are going to have to step to help inside

Let's not forget Houston was originally drafted by the pistons, who thought he was going to be the "next" joe dumars.
