cashman was more responsible for the wangs, chacons, and smalls.

the big ticket guys are from tampa and george.
That's the conventional wisdom and it could be correct but we have no way of knowing

I am talking about his big ticket guys. He is better with the small ones not the big ones that George just signed off on, especially pitching.

LOL, I was talking to a Brave fan, today and he said he feels bad but he said it could be worst. He could have been born a Met fan. We both had a good laugh.

Cashman has no clue? If we even made the playoffs was because of him making wonders with deals like Chacon, Small, etc. He hasn't been perfect, yeah, but he's done the best he could and the best he was allowed.

True, George and Tampa are responsible of Sheffield, Matsui, Giambi, Randy, ect. But while Cash has made good choices with Small, Chacon, etc, he's also repsonsible for why they needed those guys in the first place: Kevin Brown and Jaret Wright

Vasquez and Wright. Not resigning Leiber. No resigning El Duke.

JAret Wright, I give you that one. Kevin Brown, I don't think it was really him. I think the Yanks wanted to make the impression that they had a good starting rotation by acquiring an ace of the past that had had a solid season. Cashman was going for youth. I think he was pushed to make the deal..

possibly, but i think it would be worse knowing you are going to win the division every year and can never do anything further. the braves have won 14 yrs in a row, and have how many rings to show for it? at least when the mets make the playoffs, they have a shot at going to the series, whereas the braves hardly ever are expected to make it that far despite them constantly winning the division.

To me its all about A-Rod. I was so disappointed in him and Sheffield as well. You know the Yanks don't have great pitching anymore. The least we could do is score some freakin runs against the Kid. I knew tthey wouldn't tho. They never seem to do good against these unknown kids. I don't know how many times i've seen them beat great pitchers, but look totally lost against young guys they haven't seen a lot of.

Cashman is not the problem!

No Mets fans or fans of other teams should be jumping on this thread. That's just weak. You wish you even had the chance to be a situation like that.

Don't know who pushed him because George wanted Johnson like 5 years ago. I am trying to think other than Cano what young player Cashman can really take credit for. I mean I like Wang but I don't see him or Chacon as long term answers to this rotation.

actually i wouldnt since the yanks are old, overpaid, and are going no where. the mets have a very bright future with a few allstars in the making. the yanks are filled with has-beens

I rather be the Braves than the Mets. It's like lotto, you have to be in it to win it. I like what Willie has done but to finish at the bottom of the heap again after doing everything in your power to win while the Braves did NOTHING and still won the division.

This really did it for me about A-Rod. I admitt I didn't like him from the beginning, but this year's strong season made me start to consider him really a Yankee, and forget things like his first postseason in pinstripes.

But this is too much. What an embarassing performance from him this series. And to end it that way? What a nightmare!

Something really amazes me: People used to compare Jeter to A-Rod, but they are so far one from the other! Today's game was really the example:

Jeter gets hits and drives people home. A-Rod hardly hits, 0 rbi's.
Jeter hits a homer to try to start things up for the Yanks. A-Rod either walks or is out.
Jeter starts the 9th with a single, starting the comeback. A-Rod ends all hope as he is double played.

A-Rod, you will hear it all summer long. Your postseasons keep stinking and stinking. You did nothing. From MVP, to LVP... Not even that, because it woulds assume that you have any value at all..

Without A-Rod the Yankees may have won in the playoffs. Seriously, it would've been ok if he at least had helped the cause, but he was literally pathetic. And in NY, you may be good in the 1st season, but the second (playoffs) are all what matters, and he dissapointed more than anyone could've expected.
