Realgm:

Press Release - The Phoenix Suns announced today forward/center Amaré Stoudemire will undergo surgery tomorrow morning in Phoenix, Arizona. Suns team physician Tom Carter will perform the diagnostic arthroscopic surgery to determine the extent of the injury to the articular cartilage which has caused soreness to Amaré’s left knee.

A post surgery report will be provided by the Suns tomorrow.

Stoudemire missed the final two days of training camp after experiencing soreness in his left knee.

This is gonna hit the Suns hard. The results from the diagnostic operation will most likely reveal a need for more surgery.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

it could be something minor like Zach Randolph's. Usually it is when you're talking about a guy in his early 20s as opposed to a guy like Dice in his late 20s after wear and tear

possibly a blessing in disguise if amare does have to sit out the year. almost like when the spurs got duncan.

This is very bad for Phoenix, but very good for my bet with Marv!

KT 18/10 per game, here we come!

***

Guys, before we give Stoudemire a major injury, he is only undergoing DIAGNOSTIC arthroscopic surgery. That means they are only going to take a look (Though if the doctor sees something easily repairable he/she will probably take care of it.). This is very good way to handle Amare's injury, because rather than "playing through it" Ala Allan Houston, they are trying to prevent further damage. It is not a good sign that a guy who depends so much on his athleticism is getting surgery at a young age, but it is hardly uncommon at the NBA level.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

umm humm.

so . . . that's our strategy.

well how about this - without amare in there, who's gonna draw kt as their defensive assignment? that's right - the toughest frontcourt defender.

how is skirt thomas gonna deal with that whole lot of mess?

my motto for kt in '06 - "14.9 will be just fine"

i'm gettin' hungry oohah!

I didn't even see this when I posted above...

I think the toughest frontcourt defensive player will be on Marion!

More than fourteen-point-nine-nine, and the steak will be mine...or something!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Zach had microfracture surgery. There is *nothing* minor about that

LOL, like I said all contracts are risky. Whether you have heart trouble, knee trouble, mental trouble. You never know. Kudos to him for getting that deal done first though.

Man four months for Amare. Micro too. C Webb and Houston type. Like I said great for him he signed that deal when he did. Life isn't scripted.

Well, I do see that Zach is playing pre season games, so it's obviously not nearly as bad for the much younger guys, so hopefully Amare will be able to make a decently quick comeback, like the predicted 4 months. However, he's lucky he isn't 32, b/c it's obvious that when you undergo this procedure, you're headed towards the end.
