Ewing played his best D for John Thompson. That said, adding a healthy Curry is the best thing that's happened to the Knicks since we won the `85 lottery and pickey Ewing.

Personally I think Frye has all the tools to be the next Rasheed Wallace. He is gifted offensively, to hit nearly any shot he wants, he is capable of shotblocking. I think he needs to bulk up to be more of a force in the paint though with Curry now, he doesn't have to focus on being in the paint but roaming. Those two could cause alot of problems for teams when they gel and get experience playing together.

Pharze, that's what's so exciting. Zeke thought Frye was like Duncan, in terms of fundamentals and hands. He's built more like a taller Rasheed and runs and jumps well. He's been training all summer and is just scratching the surface of what he can be.

Lee and Ariza are also very exciting long athletes. They need to develop their shots, but it's gonna be some party at the Garden when they do.

So what C does Curry remind you of? I can't really of a comparable young C. He has better offensive moves than anyone I can remember at 22. His d and rebounding, are sort of missing, but he hasn't really been coached.

Frye on the other hand reminds some people of Rasheed, and reminded Zeke of Duncan.

Can Frye match the intensity Wallace shows? His teammates and the Palace feed off of that.

Speaking of Detroit, watched some of Bulls-Pistons. Detroit still look like Man-Animals! Delfino and Darko got minutes and were producing, especially Delfino. Sweetney looked like crap. Dyess (shoulda brought him back) had Mike on lockdown. Don't recall Tim getting in the game at all.

Trading Marbury is addition by subtraction. Craw/Nate is the future anyway!

Frye's disposition is closer to Duncan's.

Comparisons to Wallace or Duncan may create unrealistic expectations. He better perfect some trait that establishes himself as Channing Frye...especially before Steph tries to turn him into his new Kurt Thomas.

this is an excellent question about Curry. I've been trying to think about this lately, and I don't know. A young, smaller Shaq seems accurate but he actually has more moves than Shaq. Shaq gets by on his size and quickness and power. Eddy can use that stuff, but he also has some slick moves. he can be really great if he can focus.

Isiah loved Bruno Sundov too.

however I'm sure there are legit reasons and over time they will reveal themself but c'mon Frye wasn't the pencil him in 4 Duncan or Wallace was coming out of college and they both played with guards who put up numbers as well in Childress and Stack.

Overhype could be just as detrimental. What if he doesn't go out there and anchor an attack like Wallace and Duncan do and the fans turn? Crushed confidence could crush the player.

Zeke didn't spend a lottery pick on Sundov.

Brown loves Frye, too, because he was well coached and picks things up quickly. Let's keep high expectations on Channing. I'm not gonna get down if he takes awhile...

A young, healthy Bob Lanier?

Good call. I think Curry is a little bouncier down low. Almost like Hakeem, but smoother and more fluid.

Remember when Bill Cartwright broke Bob Lanier's nose?

Lanier never seemed to fully recover from the knee injury he sustained in college.

Vaguely.

That was when St. Bonnie's had a program.

I think Cartwright did it his rookie season.
