keep him. if he doesn't show up, suspend him. then see if we can trade him in february. if not, then waive him.

of course hopefully his punk *** will show up and be a professional, not the big cry baby he's been.

Just play tough with him. Tell him he'll be suspended indefinitely until he shows up but will under no circumstances be waived or bought out

i agree, but to me, we're not winning the title in 05/06 so let curry, frye, and james learn and become better rebounders. if they're still doo doo, then we make a move to help them out.

i'm not desperate for AD, although he will definitely help.

somebody...anybody..."man up to the mo taylor deal"...please!!!

something tells me he would retire if we did that. would the bulls be pssed or what if that happened? after the trade that's supposed to save them money, we save OURselves 13-14mil? look at the bright side johnny boy, you can re-sign him to the vet's minimum. BIZICHHHHH!

How I see it there are only 3 options:

1. Tell him stop crying, he is only playing in the worlds most famous arena, and being paid very well to do so. If he doesn't report suspend him until he does, that way the money comes off of our payroll.

2. Tell Chicago you will cut/waive him if only if they offer to throw in a pick or compensate us in some other way.

3. Arrange a buyout that is highly favorable to us, since he has no real leverage if he wants his 14 mill.

I think AD will play. It is easy to assume a back-alley deal wheer we simply let AD go, but do we really want to eat his contract for no reason? Isn't he an expiring deal this year or next year?

I think he will play here and end up loving it. It is also good for his future: The league office is right here, AD better smarten up and start think about life after the game.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Yeah, he has an expiring contract that I would never give up. I'd rather suspend him for the entire season until I could trade his expiring contract than buy him out and lose the trade asset. I'd obviously rather have him playing than suspended but if that isn't an option I'd rather suspend him than lose him for nothing. But if waiving him was an explicit component of the deal with the Bulls, you have to do it. You can't afford to ruin the integrity of your word around the league. I'm hoping it simply was not an explicit part of the agreement.

I agree that if IT said it, then he has to do it, but then it makes the deal much worse. Having AD with his expirng contract is like making money on TT. The TT switcheroo notwithstanding, it then makes Curry soooo much more expensive this year.

Like I've been saying since this trade went down...keep him so we can trade him after 30 days, suspend him if you have to, but do not waive him.

He is no superstar, and should be happy he's getting paid what he is with his skill set. He's no Vince Carter or even Alonzo Mourning.

Keep him...

for now.

On one hand media sources are saying that it was agreed upon to release Davis when the trade is finalized. Other sources have said that it was proposed by the Bulls and Isiah rejected the idea. If the latter is true I'd say keep him until we can get something for him. If the former is true then it really doesn't matter. A deal is a deal.

I'm hoping it's the latter.

CBA question: If the Knicks keep AD and he decides to retire, can we reject his attempt to retire and suspend him? Or can we keep his contract so that we can trade him to a team that wouldn't expect him to play for them but just wanted to clear salaries?

I agree with Isiah. This isn't charity; it's his job. If he doesn't want to play for us, then let him sit on the bench.

If he retires, he is not entitled to any of that $14 million. That's why I am not buying his bluff. He even admitted that. Why help him or the Bulls out. I would only buy out his contract for like $3 million. The Knicks have the extreme upper hand here. To be honest LB is screwing things up, he needs to stay out of this and let Isiah play tough. If the Bulls want him that much I would trade him to Chicago, may have to get a third team involve though. If not let him rot and suspend him.

I think Larry said that because he knows Antonio personally. When next to Isiah's hardline stance on the matter, it's the perfect good cop, bad cop.

This is going to be a good season... I can't wait!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

give him respect. Let him take a little extra time. Be a classy organization. But when its said and done he's got to be here. Briggs was right.. we need rugged rebounders and defenders like AD
