why the F CK would they be showing curry and crawford having fun in SC?
why is eddie there with his trainer?
AD comes down to SC and then LEAVES the next day b/c of some family emergency?

isiah can't just call out AD and say "F HIM" but i bet he doesn't want to play and they're trying to work something out.

AD is the president of the player's association and with this new CBA, he has to report.

he'll either have to retire or we suspend him. we are NOT waiving him.

the hold-up is AD...not curry. WHY THE F CK would they be showing curry there? it would be TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE for this organization to do that.

curry is fine...it comes down to AD.

"this isn't charity" - clearly isiah is frustrated by AD's refusal to come to ny.

what do you guys think?

I think they were just collating data, and some dr.'s took time off this week for a holiday.

i think that's the spin.

the curry health thing is a done deal. AD doesn't want to report so they extended the deadline so he can think it over. this trade is going down no matter what. the only thing is whether AD is a knick, retired, or suspended by the knicks.

All I heard was he passed his tests. I didn't hear anything about AD causing a delay. So who knows.

Says the delays were the holidays, which along with "Chicago" is what I heard.

Its on him now right?

yup, if AD retires, he's off the books.
he won't retire so he'll either be a knick tomorrow or suspended.

he never came to ny. he went directly to SC and never took a physical. curry took his tests and i believe he was cleared by the doctors. that's why they sent him down to SC. like briggs said, it doesn't take that long, and i don't believe it did. they are just using the holidays and the "more info" from chicago as the spin as to not call out AD due to his position with the player's union and relationship with LB.

but isiah started getting pissed and was like "this ain't charity".

the trade is done. the only question is whether AD is a knick or suspended.

i'm running with this theory. it makes sense. curry down in SC before the results doesn't. why pump up the fans like that? it would be totally irresponsible. isiah's rep is on the line here as well as the team's.

unless its been reported that AD is AWOL you really don't know. It's not like he can practice until the trade is finalized.

With Zeke it always takes longer than you think it will. Whether it is Crawford, Brown or Curry.

From the NY Times (and the "any word on curry passing his tests?" thread...

REBOUNDS

Antonio Davis returned to Chicago on Thursday, and the Knicks appeared to begin to set the stage for his possible release. Davis, acquired in the Eddy Curry trade, went home to be with his wife, whose mother is having surgery. But Davis has also made it clear to the Knicks that he was unhappy with the trade. "He was really down last night," said Coach Larry Brown, who coached Davis in Indiana. Brown seemed ready to oblige Davis if he wants to be waived to return to Chicago. "I don't want to stand in the way if he doesn't feel comfortable," Brown said. "I'd be disappointed, but you don't want somebody that doesn't want to be here." If the Knicks cut Davis, they will still have to pay him the $14 million left on his contract, or reach a buyout agreement. Isiah Thomas sounded reluctant to do so. "He really has no choice," Thomas said. "This isn't charity." ... Quentin Richardson, Jerome James and Stephon Marbury sat out both practices Thursday, each nursing a strained left hamstring. Richardson and James have missed three consecutive sessions. ... With only 12 players healthy and available, the Knicks signed forward Matt Barnes, who practiced Thursday morning.

I gotta tell ya' If AD doesn't want to play here, If I was Zeke, I may tell the Bulls that the whole swapping of first round picks is out the damn window.

exactly joe, make the deal W/O the picks, and the bulls throw in $3mil and we'll waive AD so they can have that cry baby back.

so it would be tim + sweets for curry + AD + $3 mil

btw, i read on realgm that when AD was in toronto, he was caught cheating and his wife and kids moved back to chicago. that's why AD was pouting and forcing a trade back there.

I have no idea what to think. Recent years have prepared me to expect bad news. I cant believe EC would be hanging with his bud JC if his part wasnt done

Isiah is right, Ad has no choice and this isn't charity, if you don't wanna earn your 14 million in New York, then retire or we work out a buyout highly favorable to us or chicago reworks the trade, but under no circumstances does he get waived and we pay him 14 million because hes a million dollar crybaby!!!

IT ain't charity? Ask Shandon?

If Isiah said we'd waive him and can go home with his salary and is backing up from that, its a tough line but hurts his rep. We don't want to be black listed.

But if its up front the AD needs to decide if the 14 mil is worth the time away. I read his wifes family is in Chicago. For 14 mil, can't they rent a palace and "Get By"?

I think AD's numbers is why he must be traded. The trade picks or swaps don't really figure in the salaries having to match up.

WIth big lame james we might have good minutes for AD if he proves fragile.

I think AD would be pivotal in getting off to a good start. Having a veteran tough presense like that who can play either pf/c would have been big. Especially when you figure this group is short on rebounders. JJ is on pace to miss his usual 20+ games already, and that leaves you with Curry, Frye, Rose, Mo T. Good talent but its a little light to start.
