He looks VERY chubby (much more so than Mo Taylor) and not too happy

Would you be happy? He prolly wants to friggin' kick our ass when he plays us. BTW, he actually looks a lot more muscular in that pic than chubby. He looks good. Just remember, he's always gonna have a big ars and will never be skinny. He's gotto use the body that he has and he does.

Maybe part of it is that the shirt is so baggy, but he definitely looks like he has more fat than Mo Taylor. Where is the muscle that you're referring to? I don't see any definition in him.

I got a feeling Mikes gonna be wearing those flipflops a lot ths year. Both Skiles and Paxon supposedly dont like him at all.

Maybe they should waive him, and we could get him back. Hey, we'll throw in Bruno!

I agree and i really like the kid, I hope he does well, he was drafted by layden into laydens mess and burried on the bench. IT gave him life but he still lost minutes during a losing season to vets who should of been on the bench. I hope he does well next to chandler..

good luck mike..

I actually agree with Bonn here. For everyone opining that Sweets didn't get enough minutes here, let's remember that he was a STARTER for the second half of the season and still only played 20mpg because of foul problems. Sweets has a lot to learn before he gets to Curry's level. yeah, I said it.

oh man I'm gonna miss the big fella but but while he's putting up 12 & 8, 13 & 10 Curry will be dropping 26 & 13 so it will ease the pain of losing Sweets. Looks like he's in pretty good shape in that picture. Then again he had all summer to trim down. As the season goes along he will put the weight back on as always

Now we'll get a chance to see if the Fishmike theory is correct that every Knick PG and coach simply misused Sweetney and didn't let him use his hidden outstanding post game. I guess there's always the possible that Skiles and Hinrich will also just be added to the long list of coaches and PGs who just didn't use Mike properly.
I don't have anything against Sweetney though. I think he can be a very good sixth man in this league and maybe some day an average (i.e., top 15) starting PF if he ever gets in shape.

sweets does have a great post game, in that he drawn a man's foul anytime he gets position, but he fouls on defense too much and is weak in general on defense. he rebounds very well, much better than Curry, but I don't think he does anything else well enough to be a full time starter. he still reminds me of a young Weatherspoon.

5 rbs in 20 mpg isn't rebounding very well. It's about average (but obviously better than Curry last year)

keep in mind that Curry averaged 5.4rebs in only 28mins playing next to a rebounding machine in Chandler, Davis & Othella. With that said he should be good for 7.5rebs on the Knicks

I agree. Its kinda similar to anyone being able to score more being next to people that dont demand the ball as much. With no Chandler, I think Curry will automatically grab 2 or 3 more a game. LB will do the rest to make him a 10 or 12 rebound guy.

Once he gets Skiles system in tact, he'll be the starter with lots of minutes.. HE was one of the best rebounders coming off the bench..

A typical Skiles player...

He'll be a helluva of a player especially playing alongside Chandler

Good points Silver and Guns. Curry is going to get more rebounds just by the simple fact that the Knicks don't have any big rebounders, aside from when JJ is in the game, if you wanna call him a big rebounder. With the Knicks run and gun style, I think Curry is going to have alot more oppurtunities for rebounds as well because the Knicks are most likely going to miss more shots, although on the other hand you can say that Larry does go for that kind of play and might make them take more higher % shots. Either way I believe Currys rebound numbers are around 8-9.5 this year, a vast improvement over his total from the last few years.
