Marbury
Q
Ariza
Rose
Curry

with Nate Robinson, Crawford, Houston, Lee, Frye, James off the bench

There's been a ton of talk about moving Marbury to shooting guard but I think LB will realize it'll be better to keep him at point until Nate or Craw really breaks out as a pg. Q gives us toughness and rebounding from the 2. Ariza and Rose are LB type players -- they'll do all the little things and they'll play defense. They don't need shots. Our second unit will be pretty explosive with Nate, Craw, Lee, Frye, and James. Who knows how Houston's health is but if he can give us 15 mins a game at the 3, we could be a VERY good team.

If Marbury gets moved to the 2, I see Craw starting at point and Q coming off the bench as a 6th man.

I love the Curry trade for a variety of reasons:

1. Addition by subtraction with TT gone
2. Removes the glut at the 3 and 4, opening up mins for Ariza and Lee who will really make impacts with LB as coach
3. Transforms us from the shortest, most unbalanced team in the league since Ewing to one of the largest frontcourt teams.
4. Gives us 2 traditional beasts up front that will get us so many more regular season wins because other teams can't match up in the paint.
5. Gives us the lowpost option to complement our guards.
6. Takes all the pressure off of Frye in the frontcourt and he can develop behind the scenes at his own pace.
7. Allows JJames to play his game and give us 15 to 20 mins of really solid, aggressive play.

that's not a bad guess as to who will actually start. I think Marbury, Crawford and Q will all start. Ariza will get a lot of minutes, but he won't start right away. I think the biggest question mark is PF. I could see Rose. I could see Lee. I could even see Frye. I could also see Curry and JJ starting together along the front line.

That is a good guess, but I believe Mo. T figures in for his height. Rose is a better defender. Reezy can help on the boards nice which is why I don't see Q starting at the SF.

I'm really really hoping it's Davis as the starting pf. I would be extremely dissapointed if we waived him. He would be a really solid part of our team and could solidify our frontcourt defense. Good vet to have and would be great for Frye and Lee and Curry. The more I think of it, the more I realize Isiah needs to keep his arse around.

they have an agreement to waive him, but they can't admit they have an agreement to waive him.

C = JJ / FRYE / DAVIS
PF = CURRY / ROSE / MO T
SF = Q / ARIZA / LEE
SG = H2O / CRAWFORD
PG = MARBS / NATE

Now that is the best lineup !!!!!!!!!
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!

I think we'll see a bunch of different starting combinations while LB figures out who he can use and who he can't.

I think the biggest question mark is at the 3.

I agree, marbs is the pg.

Crawford may stay at the 2 (he started there last year and reminds me of hamilton).

At the 3, I think LB will go Q just because he played it in Phoenix and he can post up.

At the 4, I tend to agree Rose will start, but I have a feeling that spot is truly up for grabs...I'm down with rose as long as Curry or Frye starts at center, otherwise, I'd like to have a scorer like MoT or Frye at the 4.

at the 5...see the 4.

With all the intrigue, I have to say I agree with Ray...the only caveats are frye and MoT...one of those guys could outplay Rose and suprise all of us and start at the 4 alongside JJ (curry still isn't in camp)
all kool aid all the time.

Marbs/Nate
Crawford/Q
Q/Ariza
Frye/Rose/Lee
Curry?/James
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

How in what shape and/or form did he remind you of Rip Hamilton. Are you talking about a different Hamilton none of us know about? A guy you can compare Rip to is Allan Houston b/c the both of them are mainly mid ranged ball players who shoot high % mid ranged shots and occasionally shoot 3s (Well, Allan at his prime at least) and once in a blue moon will take it to the hoop. Jamal has shown no trace of being a mid range player at any point in his career, even though he can. What he did last season, as a scorer was shoot 3s and SOMETIMES take it to the hoop. In fact, he got to the line less than Rip Hamilton. Jamal plays best when he is in motion, especially as a point guard. Now where does that remind you of Rip? They are tw and TOO far different players and at this point, Jamal isn't in Rips league in terms of just being good, but hopefully this all changes.

That's OK, but it means nothing if he doesn't play like Rip. But really, Jamal is a tall point guard.

Yeah, that's actually a pretty good set up (We could mix up James and Davis though). Have the slower lineup start and then the young guns come in and run the opposition off the court. I can see that working. I think a big key though is keeping Davis. I would really love to keep that guy.

I guess
Curry
Rose (if we don't have AD)
Q
Crawford
Marbury

I'd go with twin towers a lot though
Curry/JJ
Curry/Frye
but not in the starting lineup right now

i would go with:

pg - jamal
sg - steph
sf - Q
pf - frye
c - curry

i think with 4 out of 5 starters being in the league for at least 3 years, it's ok to put frye out there as a rookie.

starting JJ and Curry together is an awful thought. NY will get outquicked in the paint all qtr. James avg'd 4 pfs a game in 17 minutes of action, the last thing we need is to pair him with someone else who lacks raw speed up front.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

The Knicks can now say they have a team that can go inside and out.

When was the last time any of us said that?

I'll also add that this camp is gonna be interesting....There are guys that want to play and I'm sure they are all going hard to get the respect from Brown. The line-ups are endless.....if someone don't wanna bring it....there is another guy itching to take your job!

Go freaking knicks!!!!
