i would rather keep all those draft pick deals and given Lee. I like Lee, but we gave up to much just to keep him.

I like Lee better than the picks. 2 second rounders, first rounder in 2006 and a swap later on in 2007. Both Zeke and Brown are way high on Lee and that says something. Plus you get 2 extra years of development from a solid player going into what should be years where the knicks should be contending for the East title.

Quick question if Zeke, Brown, and Paxson all like Lee could they be on to something?

i personally think it was a poor hedge, if something goes foul, Chicago could be sitting with two lottery picks and 2 high 2s--is that worth Lee? We took a solid gamble with curry, but we didnt hedge for something unsuspected. I wouldve kept our draft positioning.

i liked him in college, and he killed everybody in the pre-draft camp.

according to what im reading we could win the lottery two years in a row and lose the players--that is WAY WAY WAY to much risk

or we could give up any combination of high picks if things went south--like a 4 and a 9 etc... plus 2 secound rounders--isnt that a little to heavy for lee? for those of you who are saying you have seen le dominate in CBB, please, i probably watch 10 times more CBB than you I have seen Lee play many many times for 4 years and he is less than dominating in college.

if curry did have problems and marbury went down--and we ended up with two lotto pick--is lee worth more?

exactly. He had three 1st rders last season. By taking back more salary, I'm sure he can get 3 first rounders any year he wanted to if he spotted players he wanted.

I didn't think of it that way, but that's a good point.

Briggs you are assuming that the picks are not protected at all. There is an equal chance that we are giving up just a late round 1st pick instead of Lee

Besides, with Frye (pending a bust), Nate and Lee Curry(physical) crawford, Q, all in there early 20's, are u really concern with drafting more kids next season. You should be building this guys into all stars.

I know for a fact that Bulls wanted to trade up for David in the first round. David thought he was going to Phoenix in the draft so 30 wasnt a REACH. He is going to surprise you if he works hard.

If Brown has a conviction about Lee, I'm fine with it.

Im sorry, but can you provide evidence they were protected in anyway, i read it right off the bulls site, there's nothing about protection.

October 4, 2005 – The Chicago Bulls convey to the New York Knicks the contract of Antonio Davis and the signed-and-traded contract of Eddy Curry. In exchange, New York conveys to Chicago the contracts of Tim Thomas and Michael Sweetney, the signed-and-traded contract of Jermaine Jackson, and New York’s regular second round draft choice in 2007 and 2009.

In addition, New York conveys to Chicago, New York’s 2006 regular first round draft choice on condition that the pick does not actually go to Utah (due to not being number 26-30) and also on condition that New York receives San Antonio’s 2006 regular first round selection (due to being number 11-30). If New York’s 2006 first round does go to Utah (due to being number 26-30), and New York does receive San Antonio’s 2006 first round pick (due to being number 11-30), New York conveys to Chicago that San Antonio first round selection.

In addition, New York also conveys to Chicago the right to switch first round draft picks with New York in 2007 provided that New York’s first round selection does not go to Utah (is not number 25-30). Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. This trade is conditional upon the players passing their physicals.

Im not saying David Lee is some kind of bad player we reached for, Im saying we gave up more compensation to keep than Toronto gave for Vince Carter--that is obscene---if things go south, we could give them two lottery picks and 2 numbers 2 even potentialy greg oden--is that risk worth lee?

king, welcome to BRIGG's world. The team, last year, without Curry, was a .500 team. Unless Marb, Q and Curry all go down, this team is not gonna be anywhere near the high lottery.
