crawford will handle and dish.
marbs will attack, score, and dish.
frye is there for the pick and pop/roll.
curry is the post guy.
so how does Q fit now that he's starting?

looks to me like he reprises the 3 point role in pheonix.

your thoughts?

Its unreal how much of a real lineup we have now. I think restricting Q to the 3 point line will be bad. I think LB will have him and Craw as the outside threats at different times. I honestly think Stephon will still play point with Craw or Q off the bench. I think Ariza will start at SF.

My Lineup: Steph, Q, Ariza, Frye, Curry

I do think Ariza should start, but I can see him coming off the bench with Nate as tempo changers.

So the second unit would be Nate, Ariza, JJ & possibly Mo T with Craw, Q or Marb in with them.

I like that lineup but I would prefer to have Big Game James in there instead of Curry. James can soften up the middle then bring in Curry to score at will.

I would like to see Curry and Big Game James starting together, along with Q in the frontcourt. Q won't be restricted anywhere. He has an inside-outside game and will be allowed to use it.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I think LB will use him like he used Corliss Williamson in Detroit. When the match-ups call for it Q will be in the post. Otherwise he will float around the perimeter and get some open shots due to penetration and attention to Curry. I definitely see him in a well rounded role
I just hope that people will like me

Imagine Having James, Curry, Lee, Ariza and Nate at the same time and using a 3-2 zone similar to what SA uses where the 2 big guys are guarding the paint and having these active wing players and a helter skelter PG in Nate to pressure the ball. Oh my god! Please, please, please! Can we start the season already?

The Job of the 3 is to do a little bit of everything. Q can do everything too...he can post up little small fwds, he is an above average rebounder for his position, he's a streaky three point shooter but he can hit them, he can also get up and down with the best of them.

Go Knicks!!!!

it will come down to who earns it in camp & preseason. I don't think Ariza will start. Q will. As for the frontline, ideally it would be Curry & Frye but Frye has to show that he is ready and maybe he's not ready but will be by midseason so I think the opening day lineup will be:

C-James
PF-Curry
SF-Q
SG-Crawford or H20(I really like the idea of crawford as a scorer/creator off the bench and separating him and stephon)
PG-Marbury

Starting lineup should be balanced.

James
Curry
Ariza
Q
Marbs

2 Defensive specialists
3 Offensive juggernauts

We'd have a huge advantage size-wise at the 4 and 2 with Curry and Q being able to dominate small defenders.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Curry- James/Frye
Davis- Frye/Malik/Less
Ariza- Q/Lee
Marbury- H20/Q
Crawford- Nate

Obviously there are going to have to be rotations, but I think one of the big things is that we aren't and shouldn't be seeing Marbury play 40 mpg, which is big. Everyone comes in fresh, as Mustafaaab would be preaching his brains out on MSG. Not as much pressure on Frye with Davis and Curry around. He should be playing about 25 mpg however. The Knicks are in good shape, and injuries sure as in hell should and will not be an excuse this season.

How has Frye earned any minutes he was the least effective of any of our rookies in summer league, and would have fouled out every game, he should be getting no more than 15 a game, I would rather take my chances with Antonio Davis and David Lee in spurts, with Rose for defensive energy.....

This is what I'm hoping for:

C-Curry
PF-Frye
SF-Q
SG-H20
PG-Marbury

H20 should be on the floor with Curry if he's healthy for 15-20mins. Its stupid to have him come off the bench and play with Jerome James

Since Q can play inside AND outside, he can be used according to who's on the floor.

what I think:
PG Marbury
SG Houston
SF Rose
PF Frye
C Curry
2nd unit: Crawford, Q, Ariza, JJ

This is just to get the season going. I think LB wants to set the tempo with size and rebounding, and athletic faster guys in the 2nd unit. The Houston thing is just crap shoot guess, but he hasnt retired yet so I'm assuming he will start at the start. I think Malik Rose gets a lot of play early because of his attitude, work ethic and intensity on both sides of the ball.

Eventually Nate and Lee will find minutes when guys get gimpy and/or when LB is more comfortable with them.

I think Mo T is the odd man out.

I'm assuming AD is released as per rumor.

Frye was the best player on the floor during his last summer league game.

It's a guard oriented summer league but Frye's scoring efficiency was still very good and he played Dwight Howard to a standstill in their head to head matchup. Frye's definitely earned playing time, although I wouldn't start him.

so does Q now stay the 3 point guy like in pheonix?
