haha - yup, if any of you have questions, just post them here and i'll send them over.

i have a meeting at work but will try to get in on that conference call. i'll try to re-cap but if i can't, then i'm sure their website will post the transcript.

i'm pretty sure that he won't answer any curry question since the deadline for the QO is midnight monday unless a deal was made. and if a deal was made, then this conference call would probably be postponed.

conference call was cancelled.
it was weird that the conference called was scheduled the same day as media day so that may be a reason why it was cancelled. also, the last time his conference call was cancelled was b/c of the LB press conference.

is something up? who knows...

That was lame... I waited on hold for 15 minutes listening to that Garden music over and over just to find out it was cancelled?!?! Oh well, but you're right DJ, last time this happened we ended up with LB.

yeah, I called in and had the exact same thought. the curry deal is obviously taking up Isiah's time today. I'm sure it was initially planned as Zeke's way to get fans excited on media day, but the curry thing is clearly in deep deep negotiations right now.

they are offering eddie curry 70+MILLION $ Im sorry, I know deals well enough to know at some point when you are down to nitty gritty points--and lets face it --the face value of a 1 and a 2 are higher than Lee because Lee's value was pick 30 and you can do NO worse than pick 30+ you get an additional pick--and there is always a possibility even a lotto protected pick could move into a very desirable 14-19 position--when you get down that deep when you have that much money on the line with contract parameters in place and 95% of the princible is done, I would say there is a better than 75% chance that this deal gets done. Someone will give in, because each team has a viable interest--the knicks value Curry VERY highly and the Bulls cannot beat a Knick package of very reasonable compensation for Curry, a player they could end up waiving and they walk away with nothing.

I think Isiah gave them a very fair deal, but I also think if need be, Lee will be a Bull. Thats not discounting Lee, that giving the Bulls face value of his current worth

Where did you hear $70M? FOr exactly how many years? What happens with medical disability clauses? And is there a chance the league will end up disallowing it because of medical tests?

Is that a 7 year deal with incentives?

I understand Bulls were offereing like 20 million just to breath.

I can't imagine we'd go all the way on the hook for that kind of scratch!

Whos pick are we offering? If ours, we must be careful, and must be lotto protected. Funny thing is the better curry and the knicks would play, the less valuable our pick becomes.

I am very much against trading Lee and especialy Reezy.

According to the new CBA, the most he can be offered is 6 years. Which would mean he's getting more than $11M per year @ $70M total. Unless there is some other junk (Piatkowski, etc.) involved in this deal or if Chicago is under the cap, a TT/Sweets deal for Curry won't work under the cap rules unless they pay Curry like $13 mil per year. And that is just retarded for a guy who's career highs are 15 and 6. But what do I know...this is the same team who just gave Jerome James $25 mil for 5 years and has given even more ridiculous deals in the past (C. Dudley, C. Spoon, Shandon Anderson, H20, etc.)

If you look at it that way, he is a bargain!

I suppose in the end we can just say "it ain't our money!"

I read he had a 40mm$ guarantee and 70+mm if he met all incentives--it makes a lot of sense if the agent is pulling his shorts down trying to make a deal with the knicks--they only do that when this$ comes in large quantities.

Yeah, but in the end its "our team" and I want them to be good. I think adding a post player like Curry would be good for our team lineup wise (Frye/Rose/Lee at PF and Curry/James at C plus Q-Rich/Ariza/Piatkowski play SF) but I'm not sure that adding him would be good chemistry wise. Plus, know one knows if he will rebound/play D any better under Brown. If he ends up sucking ball hairs then he will be impossible to trade in the future with that $13M+ contract. Who knows...I'm still for the deal though cuz we ain't gonna get much more for TT...even if we wait til Feb. That's just an insane amount of cheese for "potential". Dude can score at will down low though.

Amare just got a 5 yr $70 million max contract. I'm guessing Curry would get the same deal from the Bulls and get traded to the Knicks. sigh. he's ALMOST worth it if EVERYTHING breaks right, but still, SIGH.

We're never gonna have conventional cap space. I think we will be getting Curry, and if he's okay, it will be a great move.
