And Allan Houston!

Its too close to camp for my opinions, besides, ooha will probably prove them wrong anyway, so I take page from his book and go to hope

Houston's had rest, lots of it. He also loves Jesus and Jesus loves him. We also know that there are basketball "gods." Among the walking ones is Larry Brown who says he thinks that Houston might be ready maybe. Good enough for me!!!!

starting line up:
Marbury
Houston
Q
Sweetney
JJ
size and shooting. Space for Marbury to break it down, Sweetney draw doubles and Q is posting and toasting.

Its 99 all over again... then when JJ picks up his 2nd foul and we keep Houston fresh in comes the running men! Crawford, Nate, Frye, Ariza.

LB coach of the year, AH, comeback player of the year, Marbury an all star. Nate and Frye outduel Ariza's squad in the rookie/sophmore challenge and lil Nate the Great brings home the bacon in slam dunk contest.

We are due!!!

It's funny how this whole world is based on one dummy controlling another, and the leader dummy was chosen by a whole bunch of dummies.

So is that second foul gonna be 5 minutes after tip off, or maybe closer 6:21?? And is this bacon you speak of going to be extra crispy, b/c that's how Jerome likes it, particularly after he picks up is second foul. Hey, we gotto keep that big man full on the gas tank, right?

You done took that page: On one thread you were talking 18/12/2 for Sweetney, but on the prediction thread, you put a much more realistic 12/8. I know, you did not say Sweetney would average 18/12/2 next year, but that is still "hopeful". By the way, I have a scenario where Sweetney could put up those kind of numbers: Playing in NJ or Phoenix. These are systems where you always get the ball exactly where you want it, and players tend to put up bigger numbers with Kidd and Nash (Of late.). WIth the running style there is more of everything to go around, points, rebounds, etc.

Yes, we are due. If everything clicks perfectly for the Knicks, they could have a pretty decent season, kind of like Washington's last year.

It could happen to us.

the 18/12/2 is me talking about Sweetney's ceiling. His peek. I still think he gets there, just my opinion. I never said it would be next year however. He's still got a lot of learning to do about the game at this level. Especially if things stay status quo and Frye and Sweetney play together as a future tandem Sweetney will spend a ton of time on under the basket balooning his #'s even further. Thats the 18/12 I'm talking about. Same with the blocked shots. Sweets will never be a great shot blocker but I think if he gets heavy minutes you will see him collect a fair amount (like Nazr did) because he's quick and will have a ton of opportunities.

I think he averaged well over 3.5 blocks a game in GTown. Not because he's a Ratliff type, but he's always on the block, always around the basket and he's quick.

He averaged 3.2 as a senior. But you gotta remember one thing: Goergetown plays an incredibly weak schedule outside of the conference, with the exception of some made-for-tv games.

Sort of, you have to look at statistical production in certain systems with a grain of salt. For instance, I think Kenyon Martin is overrated, much of his success was created by Kidd. But if Sweetney put up 18/12/2 anywhere I would call him at least "Very Good".

Sweets never played his senior yr... that must have been when he was a jr so I was pretty much on.

I dont care to find your exact words but you said something along the lines of any player getting 18/12/2 is a star, when my whole point (obviously poorly explained as your just getting it now) all along was that with more minutes and of course experience Sweetney could and would by "very good."

I agree with KMart, and you would be hard pressed to find anyone disagree with KMart not being very good.

My bad, I meant his Junior year...

Yes that is almost exactly what I said last week. I also said today he would be "at least Very Good" if he put up 18/12/2. But my realistic "betting" prediction for Sweetney is generally a "good player with some exploitable weaknesses 12/8."

Anyway, I really don't want to argue anymore about how bad or good Sweetney is or any of our players are (Except TT.), because training camp is coming and I am psyching myself into full-on "IT COULD HAPPEN HOPE MODE!!" At the begining of the season we are all equal. Lilliputians become giants and the mighty fall with one well-placed stroke.

Marbury will become Isiah/Magic/Kidd/Nash
Crawford will become Dumars/Miller
Sweetney will become Barkley/Brand
Ariza will become Dr. J/T-mac
Jerome James will become Parish/Mutombo

It could happen to us! We're in it so we could win it!

Or

Marbury will become Pearl Washington
Crawford will become Lois Orr
Sweetney will become Oliver Miller
Ariza will become Gazy
Jerome James will become Benoit Benjamin (actually an improvement!)

It could happen to us! We're in it so we could win it! (Ist overall pick a year before Greg Oden!)

The one thing tthat sticks out about last year was that H2O was forced to play much longer than they intended when JC got hurt.

This year he will likely be kept to a healthy time limit and this should save him for the season. This is where our depth will really help. We'll be able to preserve guys and this should help keep everyone strong over the long season. We should be much better on back 2 backs. I'm excited and full of confidence that this will be a good year. We've had enough bad things happen we're due for some good fortune.
