Make it sticky for the whole world to see whos saying what all season long!

Nalod: I still got some Nedyal in me and think we have moved forward in some areas, but lose some rebounding.

Im going with 8 win improvement which takes us to .500. Thats it. We are young, potentially exciting, but there still front line concerns and problems.

IM not hating, just think this is going to be a transition year with some learning curves.

Patience and enjoy the rookies and good coaching!

Playoffs will depend on the records of 7 other teams.

Good thread! I think the team will be better after Isiah makes a trade using the expiring contracts and other trade assets. I wouldn't be surprised if they were a little below .500 early in the year but finished strongly and got 43 wins. That's assuming players are reasonably healthy, especially Marbury.

Thats 43 wins with or without a expiring contract trade?

This team, this roster.

It all depends to be honest. Especially on Frye and Sweetney. If Sweetney can build on last year and at least semi break out, and if Frye can live up to Briggs expectations, then we're in good shape. I am not relying on James for shizat.

It also depends on how the backcourt clicks.

If everything goes well, 45 wins with THIS roster. If the backcourt doesn't click and the players I mentioned above don't play to expectations, below 30 wins.

I think Larry Brown will push a core starting group of Marbury, Crawford, Q, TT, Sweetney, JJ, Penny, Houston and Malik early on and win some games. Probably like last year we will be around 15-12.

Then as the gimps start to break down you will see more Ariza, Frye and Nate as Penny and Houston break down and JJ has his first bout of back spasms or thigh cramps that put him out for a week here and a week there. This is where it gets interesting. Which personality will prevail, Larry the teacher or Larry the psycho Knick lover desperate to make the playoffs in his last coaching gig.

All and all I say 42 wins and 9th place in the east. Close but not close enough.

I'm going with 38 wins because of late season injuries.I personally could give to craps about the record. I'm more concerned with the development of the young guys. I want no Darko's on this team. I also am concerned with how we position ourselves with Penny and TT to make a trade. Never in my life will I root harder for a player than I will for Tim Thomas. We need a career year out of him so we can dump his arse.

I also hope that IT brings Howard Eisley back. I missed the old days where I hated everyone on the roster.
I just hope that people will like me

anything less than .500 and the season is a dissapointment.
with that said, my cautious optimism doesn't think we'll be much higher than that so i'm going with 43-44 wins.

best case scenario, 48-50 wins
worst case, 35 wins

if you ever actually said anything I would pay attention, but my 2 year old usually makes more sense than you do. I asked you once, I will ask you again. As of right now nothing is locked in but I would say Det/Indy/Heat/Nets are the top 4 teams in the East. Which of these is the Knicks going to knock out to get to round 2?

Still waiting...

C'mon guys, no high or low.

A few of you are like "well if things go well......"

A number, not a range. WE all gonna be wrong anyway. Trades may happen, injuries, etc, but before camp, before the kool aid, and before it runs out, whats the number?

42-40. it's going to be a decent start, then get ugly for a while, then rally to the playoffs as the players start to "get" Larry's system and rotations. 7th or 8th seed, unless the Atlantic division is really bad (and it's a Vince Carter or Jason Kidd injury from being really bad).

I say 39 wins. I think our frontcourt problems keep us from excelling too much. Frye and Lee won't even combine for as many minutes as Ariza got last year. But, that being said, I think it will be a more exciting season. This year is meaningless, IMHO, as it's going to take the new coach a year to get the troops playing to his style and we have a lot of rookies who probably won't play. Don't be shocked if Mo T, Penny and Tim Thomas are part of the rotation. I don't see us playing the rookies much, because history with the Knicks is like a broken record. Nate will get 8-12 minutes a night and possibly lead our rookies in minutes. It's going to be interesting to see, by the end of the season, whether or not Ariza gets more minutes than TT. I hope so, but my gut tells me that TT will get 25 minutes a night and Ariza will sit often, since he's directly backing up Q.

Best case scenario is a complete flop, a non-career threating Marbury injury and us getting lucky and winning the lottery. Regardless, though, we have some youth in the house, so maybe I'm wrong and they'll get some minutes and we show some dedication in a direction, for a change.

I'm going to go with 43 wins. I honestly don't think Larry Brown will settle for anything except a playoff chase down the stretch and will force Isiah into getting some players in here that he wants if they Knicks are in that position. I think around later December the Knicks are going to lose a few games in a row and Larry is going to go a litte bonkers and the expiring contracts of Timmy or Penny will be put into use and *poof* a frountcourt player will appear in the starting lineup for the Knicks next to the much improved Mike Sweetney. And oh yeah, the Marbury at 2guard experiment lasts no more then 15 games, he'll be back running the point where he should be when the Knicks make their playoff push at the end of the year.

50.

that's right.

50 wins.

this team could go either way. but i'm predicting the high way.

every year some team wins at least 10 games more than anyone predicted.

guess whose turn it is this year?
