Their replacements are already on the team......that would be a combination of Ariza, Craw, Q, David Lee and even Houston if he comes back.

Why not dump them or just "Big Dog Robinsonize" them.....meaning....tell them to go **** themselves and move on without them. Later on in the year decide on trades and if KG isn't coming then waive both.

Either by trading, waiving or just letting the contracts expire they should not be allowed to play this year.

I'm inclined to agree with Briggs. If they come in ready to play with a good attitude and ready and able to help us win games the door should be open to anyone. While I am in favor of letting them walk and just come off the books it makes sense to keep them around for firesale deals. You just never know who's going into the sh!tter and will be willing dump contracts. If GS gets to the playoffs this year (I have them as my darkhorse in the West) look no further than Baron Davis. Lets face it.. they got him for nothing.

I have no idea what will be available. Nobody ever does, but usually something happens. With our 2 #1s and and potential pieces you have to keep your options open.

If the Clippers are in the tanker and we can get Elton Brand for TT's expiring deal along w/ Sweetney and Nate Robinson the Knicks brass are pulling the trigger.

Penny - definitely. i feel that he's beyond worthless - he's a detriment.

TT - i wouldn't. I'd go with LB's judgement on if and when to give him minutes. If LB thinks he can get some use out of him, give him the chance.

KG and Elton are the clear favorites to be available at somepoint due to the luck these teams have.

But as far as teh start of the season.....Timmy and Penny along with Houston could be a distraction. There are only but so many spots available for minutes. Brown likes a 8 man rotation but can go 10 if needed. That leaves tons of guys on the outside looking in.

Will there be favoritism? Will Timmy come in ready to play? if Timmy starts where does that leave Ariza and Q? If Penny and Houston remain in the rotation what does that do to Craw, Ariza and Q?

There is potential for big distractions early on....

KG will be way to pricey. I think you would be looking at something like Frye/Lee/Nate/Crawford/TT/Penny + multiple #1s for Garnett/Wally.

I cant really say I think thats the way to go, but you know Knick management will in a heartbeat and it would be hard to blame them. You take a 3-4 year run with
Marbury/Q/Wally/Garnett/JJ and Sweetney/Ariza as your first guys off the bench.

I think it would be Ewing days all over again. You have a good enough team and coach to go deep in the playoffs every year, but lack the resources to get over the hump.

we'd be a championship squad with Marbs, Q, Wally, Garnett, JJ. Tell me how that team does not stack up well against Indiana, San Antone, Suns, Etc.

My thoughts exactly!! With LB coaching?!?!?!?!? That is a contender no doubt about it. Jerome James is the x factor though. Does he play like a biotch or does he play like an NBA player? That is what will determine whether or not we could win it all.

JJ is a back up. JJ is a scrub getting a chance to step up.

Anfernee should be banished if the intent is to let him walk.

TT has some value to us and as trade.

I don't know if the team wants to keep this level of salary, so I don't know if Anfernee is to be used as a salary dump.

yeah. a line up with marbs, q, wally, garnett suck. oh i forgot, jerome james is holding us back... who was the center for the spurs? rasho? nazr? last time i checked, those guys were all-stars, i mean, MVP.

please. we can pull a pistons and have Sweets and Garnett at the 4/5 if James gets gazy.

its not Garnett I would be worried about. It would be Marbury, Q, Wally and JJ. That team would be good though... If I was in charge I would do it. You cant not
