A Letter From John Starks Dear djsunyc,
I know that it's unusual for you to hear from me, or the Knicks organization, regarding anything other than basketball. But I'm writing to you about something much more important than any sport -- the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. We need your help.
Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall are hosting “From the Big Apple to the Big Easy” two simultaneous concerts on September 20th, to raise funds for the long-term relief and rebuilding efforts of the Gulf region.
Madison Square Garden will feature legends from New Orleans and rock & roll, including Bette Midler; Diana Krall; Elvis Costello; Elton John; Jimmy Buffett; John Fogerty; Lenny Kravitz; Simon & Garfunkel; Fats Domino and the Neville Brothers. Radio City will showcase a number of artists, including Dave Matthews, Trey Anastasio and the John Mayer Trio.
Never before have the Garden and Radio City Music Hall joined together to host a simultaneous benefit – never before have legends of New Orleans music and rock and roll joined forces to keep the flame of New Orleans music alive.
Madison Square Garden is underwriting 100% of all concert production costs related to “From The Big Apple to the Big Easy” New York City’s Concert for the Gulf Coast, and has pledged an additional $1 million dollar donation to begin the event’s fundraising efforts. 100% of all money raised from ticket sales will go directly to organizations involved in the region’s relief and rebuilding efforts, including the Bush Clinton Katrina Fund; Habitat for Humanity; MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund and the Children’s Health Fund.
We hope that you will consider purchasing tickets to either concert, and join us for what will certainly be an unforgettable evening. Please click on this link for more information. As always, your season subscriber representative at (212) 465-6050 will be able to assist you.
Thank you.
John Starks
