We need a scrub to backup JJ and we need to make room at the PF position. Why not trade one of our bad contracts for this dude????

Kandi does not make that kind of money!

JJ is a scrub, he is the backup. we just don't have the big C starter yet.

lateral move. Kandi would be an interesting reclamation project if Isiah has given up on Mo T. Most of the players in this trade are near worthless anyway.

I dont know what the fatuation with Michael Olowakandi is on this board. He never lived up to the hype with the Clippers so they gave up on him and then he goes to Minnesota and he cant even get it done next to Kevin Garnett. He's 30 and Jerome James Version 1.1. I don't think the Wolves would want to trade his expiring contract for 2 role players either.

I don't think anyone here wants Kandi. We just want his expiring contract.

i would'nt have that much of a problem w/that. i ain't crazy about kandi, but we have enough guys to put at power, i really don't want to see frye at center that much. plus kandi expires. mo.t, see ya hate to be ya. but not rose, i've always had a soft spot for a guy that just wants to win, and that guy will do anything to win. don't think the #'s match though.

This deal is needed because we have to create room at the PF position. Kandi is a scrub, but he is a true center with an expiring contract. Minnesota would deal for Rose, because they need a player like Rose to provide the energy that Garnett produces for 48 minutes. Rose would be missed, but he is expendable.

is kandi any better than rose? I'd rather have rose out there guarding shaq than kandi. IMHO.

How can anyone argue such a trade? Kandi has a very short and inexpensive contract, while Rose's is much more and much longer. I would love to trade Taylor, but Minnesota will not want him....

If they had the same contract, I'd prefer Rose by a landslide. But they don't; Kandi has a nice expiring contract while Rose has three years left.

no, the timberwolves wouldn't do it
to help the knicks cap?
I don't care about the cap; I care about the trade value of the expiring contract

I'm beginning to doubt the trade value of an expiring contract more and more.

so you doubt the value of Marbury, Crawford, Rasheed Wallace to name a few? They're all players who could not have been obtained without expiring contracts.

Rasheed was a rare scenario where he wanted out of portland and the team and fans wanted him out. I still think we shouldn't hope that our expiring contracts helps improve our frontcourt because we're gonna be let down when we acquire the next baron davis, marbury, crawford, steve francis or erick dampier for our precious expiring contracts. Then we'll hear about how we're more talented, young, athletic & more versatile and never get passed the 1st round.
