New life in the Garden this Fall! 1050 ESPN Radio has it covered all season long, with our All-Star play-by-play cast, including Spencer Ross and Earl "The Pearl" Monroe

Since he was named the President of basketball operations, Isiah Thomas has transformed the face of the team. Thomas is also trying to find the perfect balance of players and style to come up with the winning recipe for success in the NBA.

In order to succeed in the fiercely competitive Eastern Conference, there needs to be a great leader to intensify the focus of the team and keep the players moving ever forward. Enter Larry Brown. One of the all time greatest coaches is now commanding one of the greatest franchises the game has ever known.

If Larry Brown isn't reason to get excited, just take a look at the roster and you'll agree the season opener can't come soon enough. Possibly one of the best drafts since selecting Patrick Ewing, the Knicks now have a core of young players ready to take it to the next level! All the action can be heard right here on 1050 ESPN Radio, all season long.

Nate Robinson: A former football player, this Washington Husky can hold his own with the toughest guards the league has to offer. He will give the Knicks an alternate point guard who can spell Stephon Marbury, something that was lacking last season.

Quentin Richardson: Q-rich adds versatility to the backcourt this year. Capable of playing the 2 or the 3 spot, Richardson can run the floor and is deadly accurate from beyond the arc. The Knicks will welcome another outside threat to compliment Jamal Crawford.

Jamal Crawford (left) and Stephon Marbury (right) return to lead what promises to be an intense and electrifying backcourt. Marbury is coming off a tremendous season, starting all 82 games, in which he averaged 21 points a games, plus dished out 8 assists per game. Crawford can knock it down from three-point land or take you to the hole. Both guards know how to score, so look for the tandem to be at the top of the league in offensive categories this season and for years to come.

The backcourt needs to be complimented however, with a solid, gritty frontcourt. The Knicks are unleashing a revamped frontcourt this season that has amazing potential; more athletic, more capable of running the floor and more shot blocking ability.

Trevor Ariza and Michael Sweetney add the toughness and versatility that the Knicks had in the days of Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason. These warriors take a less glamorous role for the good of the team; fighting for rebounds under the basket, diving for loose balls and even taking some elbows from the opposition all for the love of the game.

Channing Frye: The first round draft pick from 2005 will be relied on to make an immediate impact this year. This 6'11" center from Arizona is one of the key ingredients to Isiah's recipe. Frye was All Pac-10 Conference First Team his senior year at Arizona; averaging 15 points a game and snagging an average of 7 rebounds for the Wildcats. He also had an astounding 85 blocked shots in only 37 games played. Channing will wear jersey # 7 this season for New York for, "The 7 long years I had to push myself despite all the critics telling me all the things I can't do". Now Channing will get to prove the critics wrong once again as he takes his desire to win here to New York.

cause ESPN realizes that James sucks, as well as everyone else following the NBA. There are a select few on this site, however, that don't seem to realize this.

well... ESPN actually asked JJ to do a little write about himself and what he brings to the table, but he left it next to the krispy cremes and accidentally ate it.

that is a stretch comparing ariza and sweets with oakley and mason. they are completely different. ariza is athletic and energetic with sporadic aim while sweets can rebound he is limited around the basket. oak was a tough rebounder with a deadly 18 footer and mason was a tough defender who can handle and pass well. he was also a decent rebounder. i am not saying one is better then the other especially at this time but there is no comparison.

Maybe he meant Oakley/Mason to Sweetney and Anthony Bonner to Ariza. I can see it if I look really hard and squint my eyes a bit.

cry your heart out ... nobody said he didn't suck, and believe it not, if you don't average double figures in SOMETHING, you suck...but, he's the best for this team...our scoring will come from pretty much every other player and rebounding and block shots will be handled by committee.

Deke sucked, but he played an important role.

waaa waaa waaa. Gotta get those jabs in don't ya. Sucka!
