Brown will hire two to complete staff

Cavaliers coach Mike Brown will complete his coaching staff when the hiring of assistant coaches Michael Malone and Melvin Hunt will be announced as soon as today, according to several league sources.

Malone, the son of former Cavs assistant and interim head coach Brendan Malone, spent two years as an assistant with the New York Knicks. Malone originally joined the Knicks as coaching associate in the summer 2001. Before joining the Knicks, Malone spent seven years as an assistant in the college ranks, which included stints with Manhattan College, Virginia and Providence.

Hunt will join the Cavs after serving one season as an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Lakers and five years as a scout and videographer with the Houston Rockets.

Brown's coaching staff now includes Malone, Hunt, Kenny Natt and Hank Egan.

Obviously not a huge deal, but I thought he was our best assistant coach, too bad he's gone.
