This is ****ing ridculous! I cannot believe the bias!! We should just get our news from think tanks. Atleast they give facts when reporting news. The Associated Press is not giving us the news, they are doing the thinking for us!! The black person in the top picture has SODA in his hand!! Does AP really think the victim of a massive catastrophe is going to swim across a river and bring SODA back with him if he was "looting"?? Hall of Shame. Thanks for the link killa.

FYI: yahoo apologized. They essentially said they do their best to bring people news from a variety of sources and its not in their scope to monitor all of it, as the sources were AFP and AP. I thought they did a good job of essentially saying what they posted was wrong for the reasons given above.

I dont have a huge problem with Yahoo in this matter. They usually have engines that pick up whatever files from FTP servers of places like AP etc. My beef is with AP for the captioning. It might seem like I an making a big deal out this. I know this is just one incident in one city but believe me, this is how most people are all the time everywhere.

Wow that is ridiculous. It's sad really, that during a national trajedy that they are still finding a way to discount certain people. Just sad.

This is pretty ridiculous. I would have at least used the word taking. I personally used to "find" alot of toys at Toys R Us when I was a kid.

Om my goodness. Who cares. There are people with guns intercepting aid, that is the issue. Those are the ones that should be shot on the spot by an armyh court martial.

Its not about just this one time. It happens all the time. I dont think the bad situation is because the Bush government doesnt care about black people cause like many said, he doesnt care about anyone that isnt filthy rich. My problem is that there is a ton of racism towards minorities. This is an example.

The difference between finding and looting is the difference between a bologna sandwich and a tv. One person is trying to survive, the other is being an opportunist. It really is that simple. We shouldn't call anyone trying to survive a "looter".

Some folks just don't get it unless it's spelled out...

The White person "surviving/stealing" from the store is "finding".

The Black person "surviving/stealing" from the store is "looting".

Bias like this is WRONG. Just as wrong as how recovery from this disaster is being handled.

Good post Killa. The pics made it easy for those who seem not to properly analyze and comprehend what they read to have that much less of an excuse not to understand.
