somebody emailed me this and it's a good take on how the media reacts to certain knicks moves:

KT: Knicks best defender traded; will be able to take advantage of nash pick n'roll- ummm...what about his age and ability to run the court- but nonetheless, it is GREAT for Phx

Q: another 3 point chucker along with Jamal Crawford and Stephon Marbury- if traded to Cleveland- Danny Ferry is a genious trading Gooden for Q with his 3-point prowess- Zeke again trades for another underachieving player, nonetheless a PF to add to their expansive collection of PF's and guards

Houston: the Knicks overpaid this creeky kneed guy but lost what could be there only perimeter threat- after abandoned by the Knicks, he was traded to Detroit- this trade puts Detroit OVER the top- with a legit 3-point threat, the Pistons are sure to challenge San Antonio and their new 3-point skilled tandem of Van Exel and Horry

Jerome James: the knicks overpaid for this 30 year old overweight, napping at film session center- Seattle decided to resign C JJames- Wally really knows his moves after a breakout performance in the 2005 playoffs- expect james to be huge in the post season, he nearly dominated Tim Duncan in the 2nd round of the playoffs

Nazr: the knicks have signed Nazr Mohammed to a 2 year extension- Isiah Thomas' brain is as stiff as Nazr "frankenstein" Mohamed- Mohamed, what a shock blocker! the knicks season failed when they traded him away to the Spurs- he was the X-factor in the Spurs 2005 championship run. The Spurs once again prove that they are the antithesis of Knicks management.

Curry: Isiah Thomas may have enough heart on the playing surface to win championships but NO Brain when he signed aortically-challenged Eddy Curry to a 3 year deal- the Baby Bulls are maturing in to a future contender- with twin towers Chandler and Curry signed and the addition of Songaila, Curry's heart problem was miraculously cured!

Snow: LB demanded Craw be traded for Eric Snow- though JC showed his immaturity last season he showed good signs when he played PG last March- another big contract for an aged, overpaid guard; The Cavs got themselves unlimited potential in guard Jamal Crawford- his creative playmaking and 3 point skills will add a new dimension to King James and his Cavs.

dukes - notice that all of the above players are ROLE players and fit into other team's schemes and are just bit players. here they are like main options and heavily relied on

Yeah but I think the point is they suck if they come to NY but they absolutly make other teasm contenders? WTF?

Like with Q.....not too many guys are excited about him. Most people have him traded again before training camp. I Clevland got him it would be a great trade for Clevland just like it says in Dj's post.

The Knicks will be fine. Plenty of talent and great coach. I can't see why anyone would flat out hate the Knicks right now. You can't let the cap problems get in the way. The Knicks are better now then they were when the Knicks fired Layden.

Go Knicks.

we have talent but no superstar PF or Center. We have a huge question mark in the front court.

again this is typical. If the knicks were able to get Kobe for KT, the media would have called Kobe a team killer and a cancer, while KT would be the center to shut down duncan.. Just typical BS!!

it's a made up email on how the media twists everything the knicks would do into a negative but put a positive spin for other teams.

KT: Knicks best defender traded; will be able to take advantage of nash pick n'rol
KT WAS our best low post defender & he worked well w/Marbury in the pick & roll while he was here...sounds like a fair analysis.
Q: another 3 point chucker along with Jamal Crawford and Stephon Marbury
Q was among the league leaders in 3's attempted & made last year...JCraw is well known to be a chucker as well...Marbury? i wouldn't classify him as a chucker though...he's just as much a penetrate & dish guy as he is a shooter, if not more so.
Houston: the Knicks overpaid this creeky kneed guy but lost what could be there only perimeter threat
Houston overpaid...where have i heard that before?...it's not the media that fuels this sort of negativity...the fans follow right along with this one.
Jerome James: the knicks overpaid for this 30 year old overweight, napping at film session center
that's blasphemous...Jerome James is the truth...he'll lead us to a title this year...JJ is DYNOMITE!
Nazr: the knicks have signed Nazr Mohammed to a 2 year extension- Isiah Thomas' brain is as stiff as Nazr "frankenstein" Mohamed
trading Nazr for those 2 1st round picks was 1 of the better trades Isiah's made as Knicks' GM...i might have questioned Isiah's brain makeup too if he signed Nazr to that extension mentioned above.
Curry: Isiah Thomas may have enough heart on the playing surface to win championships but NO Brain when he signed aortically-challenged Eddy Curry to a 3 year deal
with no insurance company willing to cover Curry's contract, signing him to a 3 year deal might not be in the Knicks' best interest depending on the dollar amount.
Snow: LB demanded Craw be traded for Eric Snow- though JC showed his immaturity last season he showed good signs when he played PG last March- another big contract for an aged, overpaid guard
is this any different from what several posters on this board have been saying about Snow the past few weeks?
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I lived outside of NY for long enough to understand that most Americans are intimidated by and hate NY. Of course they're gonna dis the hell out of us whenever possible. As long as we have a $100M+ team that socres a big 33 wins they're gonna have a party with it. I pay it no mind - the only way to shut them the F up is to win.

P.S. I always make it a point on principle to have one exception to this - I will always happily bash Hanging Chad Ford whenever he opens his malevolent mouth or keypad. I just get too much pleasure out of hating that man to stop now!

It doesn't end there. If the team wins 45 games, they're stuck in mediocrity with a cap disaster. Heck, even if the team wins the championship, the media will say they bought the championship, even though there is no correlation in basketball between team salary and wins.
