Interesting question. I wanna know what you think. Sure I think he should be given an oppurtunity to start. But will Chaney let him?

I think Camby and Thomas will be starting at the beginning of the season but if one of them were to get injured or if we're as bad as last year then I would see Chaney start Wilcox...

Kurt is good as gone with Wilcox. Kurt doesnt do well at PF because he cant out manuver a PF. But he can put some moves on a slow center. He is trade bait along with Sprewell.

this is the time to trade kurt and someone else as a package - kurt improved his stock this season...

I agree, his trade value is at an all-time high, especially with those inflated numbers at the end of the year when he was the Knicks only presence down low. He might be able to fetch you a late-first rounder (18 to 25, no later)

honestly, kurt is worth more than a late-mid first rounder.

kurt is a veteran defensive minded contributor who has a solid PF/C starting game in this league, and went top 10 back in 1994('96?) when he was drafted.

I would look for a 13 to 25 pick for KT, it just depends on what the filler for the trade is.

Lets wait for the Knicks to make it official before we put him in the starting lineup for all we know he may not become a Knick.

Kurt will not get you a pick between 13-25. Kurt can get you another half-good player. I would only use Kurt to enhance a trade such as with Sprewell to get a good SF. BUt with their salaries it would have to be a rather expensive one with a filler.

Chaney has a history of prefering veterans. If my recollection is correct, Buck Johnson played alot early in his career with the Rockets but I don't remember any others. However, I do not believe Chaney will be the coach for long. His teams always have a good year(I bet the Knicks will be in the playoffs in 2003)followed by a terrible year that causes his demise. However, the teams for one reason or another do well after he leaves.

kurt could probably get us the 13th pick from the bucks. or the clippers' 12th pick.

No way. Bucks are high on Amare and Kareem and GMs seem to think Borchardt will be around at 12. Besides, what salary would you take back from the Bucks?

if we still have KT and Camby...i doubt we start Wilcox bc hes to raw...his game isnt polished yet and i think he would struggle in the beggining...but by the end of the year we will be a fine player...and in 2-3 years a possible all star

How about the one on draft day a few years ago for Andre Miller. Or when they cut Eddie Robinson. Knicks could have a freaking All-World team right now.

Andre Miller was picked way before us. Plus Miller wasnt a sure thing comming out of college because other players said he was slow.

Eddie Robinson, we didnt know. He didnt get much run so he didnt get to prove himself.

falcindor, I think BigSmooth is refering to a rumored trade on draft day that JVG nixed that would have netted us Miller for not too much. I personally don't care about Eddie though...he still hasn't shown anything other than flashy athleticism. I think the Bulls are going to feel taken with his big contract next year when he doesn't produce.

I was referring to that trade, I think it was Childs and Cash and a pick for Miller. And Robinson didn't make the team because David Wingate was picked to ride the bus with Ewing, I'd much rather have ERob.
