is camby. Isiah drafted him, and he isn't really that necessary in denver...maybe we could do a 3-way deal with TT or penny's expiring deal where denver gets a 2. The reason I think Camby would make us dangerous, especially with Larry Brown, is that it gives us a really great, flexible 5 man rotation at the 4/5. Basically we could do:

Camby/Sweetney - kind of like Camby/LJ, but Camby is the above the rim type player that would thrive with craw and marbury and Sweetney's the guy we could run the offense through in half court sets

Camby/Rose - Real defensive unit, Rose can handle the bigger guys, Camby can stay with the athletic 4's - basically a powerful and energetic front court defensive unit

James/Frye - James' ideal role in my opinion is as a backup center for 20 minutes which would be good for Camby too, since he's injury prone. I think JJ is overpaid but that's not the point - he's on our team for 5 years so we should try to use him in the role that best fits him. This is a good frontcourt lineup because James and Frye complement each other IMO - good shotblocking and girth at the center, shotblocking and more finesse, better scorer at the 4.

James/Camby - If we wanna go big and put a shotblocking unit out, this would be it. This kind of set would be good against teams like the pistons with big ben and sheed or the heat when the run shaq and walker at the 4/5.

Camby/Frye - more athletic, long frontline - would go well with marbruy/craw/q - shotblocking up front as well as speed and both players can finish.

I'm assuming that Mo Taylor won't get much playing time or may be traded at some point.

I am a big Camby fan. I love his game and I think it was best suited for that 1999 team with Eeing, Spree, Houston and LJ He is good but way too injury prone. I dont want to take a risk on this guy. I want Nene.

i'm talking about eastern conference finals . right now I think we are a borderline playoff team. I honestly think we'll make the 7th seed, maybe the 6th if larry brown can really turn our defense around but I still don't feel comfortable with our front court because I don't have the confidence in Jerome James that other people do - I'm afraid his foul trouble will limit his time and we'll be using Frye and Rose out of position at the center for large chunks of the game. I also think we need some sort of a consistent defensive presence and athletic player up front...hopefully Frye can become that but he's a rookie -that's why I think Camby can make a big difference. Our backcourt is in really good shape IMO - we actually have too much talent in our guards with marbury craw Q nate and possibly houston. We can move Q to the 3 which I'm okay with if we can get an impact front court player or a guy in the camby mold.

funny, I think about camby all the time...I've been using camby in frye's place in xbox (wishful thinking)...frye could suprise all of us. and that would be kool aid heaven.

the wierd thing is, according to NBA.com he's 20 pounds heavier than camby and the same height.

if we could get camby numbers our of frye next year (10/10), I'd lose it.

Forget Camby. He's injury prone and will get worse now that he's approaching the end of his career. I'm all for continuing the youth movement.

Huh? Camby is Denver's leader. They wouldn't trade him or Nene to the Knicks. Remember, they passed on Crawford and Q when they had cap room last summer and they needed a SG.

I doubt that the Nugs would trade Camby, as he's established on the team as a leader. I'd rather go with someone younger.

Hey, Frye could be our next Camby- or better. Hopefully he'll be more durable than Camby was for us.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

yeah, it's all coming back to me, he was dominant in college by far, he's just an 11/11 guy now...I'm thinking youth movement all the way...come on Frye...make us famous.

Frye should have a very good career. He does some things that will insure that he scores points.

1. He draws fouls and hist FT's at a high clip.
2. While he's not a dominant inside player, he can post up and has very nice range, so he can play anywhere on the court.
3. He can run and has good hands.

I just think he can give us very good numbers, especially when on the floor with a big guy like James who can take some of the pressure off of him.

This team gives LB a lot of flexibility and I believe he'll know how to use it. I think we have a good shot at winning the Atlantic. No one scares me. No one will probably be able to run away with the div. so we have just as much of a shot as the other teams.

Camby led us to finals SIX years ago!

He looks great on another team, and even better in the offseason!

Move forward.............

YES. Absolutely. No one in this division (or conference, or league, for that matter) scares me either. LBrown will have this team ready to rumble after training camp.

Let those other teams sleep on us. They're in for a rude awakening.

do you guys realize 99 was, as nalod said, SIX YEARS AGO!!!

we are closer to 2010 than 99. that's crazy.

should we get LJ to come outta retirement and pull childs from the buffet line at the sizzler?

turn the page.

first of all the guy is only 31. the youth movement's great, but Frye has nowhere near the hops that Camby has...if Frye develops at all it will be like Charles Smith...more of a soft, finesse player with decent rebounding and some shotblocking. Unfortunately, with the front court we have I don't think we can take this team anywhere past the first round at most...without kurt thomas we have nobody that's even decent at center besides JJ, and we'll be asking him to stay out of foul trouble for at least 30 minutes, which based on his past isn't going to happen. The youth movement's great but it's about athleticism and length and a certain type of player, and Camby fits that bill even if he isnt in his early 20s.
