ehh maybe that's a bit harsh. Thanks for the link, nice memories and all, good vid capture. I appreciate it.

But still, next time I think I'll watch it on mute.

That brought back memories!! Camby flying to the hoop, Spree and Houston driving the ball!! Wish he did that after 99. Its so hard to watch Knicks recaps and to know there isnt a game on tonite. I have that 1999 Eastern Conference Championship shirt, but I cannot wear it anymore. People laugh. I hope we are better this season.

Yeah, that did bring it back for me... I kinda have to love Spree for a second after looking at that...I mean he IS a clown with the starving kids routine, but that was the coolest playoff run ever. Big man down, troops pullin' together, Allan playing like a tri-captain. Of course that all ends in LJ guarding duncan...boo hoo

back in '99 Allan was awesome no doubt, but i don't see how that makes anyone who says signing Reggie would have been a better move considering the careers both players have had in the NBA...Reggie's going to the HOF & will be known as 1 of the most clutch big game shooters of alltime...Allan's career is ending w/a fizzle...how do draw a comparison there?

I'm also pretty sure if Reggie Miller was a Knick in 93 we have a title under our belt

it might help if we had Marcus Camby, Latrell Sprewell, Allan Houston, John Starks, Chris Childs, & Charlie Ward in their relative primes also w/former star veterans like Larry Johnson, Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley & John Starks in their later years acting as the glue to the team...that's 1 of the deepest Knick teams we've had in the past 30 years.

? we didn't have oakley or starks on that team, but it definitely was really deep - kurt thomas, dudley, camby off the bench for us...it's a shame ewing went down, we might've had a shot at the spurs.

Every single time I see a highlight from those days, I say the same thing to myself. I really miss that team. I really really miss that 1999 Knick team. I miss it more than the 1996 Knick team. When will we see another contender Knick team?

Since we're all bringing back old memories... Obviously I miss the guys like Big Pat, Starks and Larry Johnson but I think the one guy I really really miss the most is Oakley. I know we say it here often but Oak was the epitomy of what it is to be a KNICK. This team sorely misses his toughness especially when Kurt Thomas was our "toughest" player for the past 5-6 years or so. Oak man, where are you!

Will we ever win a championship rob? Can we even get to the NBA finals? I want the Knicks to atleast compete if not contend. Please! I need to see some light, the tunnel is TOO long!

I miss the 96-97 team just as much. That team went toe to toe with the Bulls that year. If only the PJ F'N Brown iccident never happened! We lead the series 3-1 before the incident Then the Bulls went on to abuse Miami in 4 or 5games because they clearly were not better than the Knicks and shouldn't have been playing the Bulls. I would've been more proud of playing the unstoppaBulls down to the wire in 97 than losing in 5 to the Spurs in the finals

Drink some Kool-Aid Nik Remember on draft night how excited we were about Nate Robinson? Those are the types of things too look forward too, along with Frye, Lee, Ariza, Sweetney and hopefully Jackie Butler can be thrown in there too. These guys are going to learn from one of the best and with a few tricky moves the Knicks *could* be legitamate contenders in 2-3 years. But now, we must watch and wait. Patience young grasshoppa. Patience.

I gets a little hazy once you talk about teams of the late 90's so I can see his confusion.
96 - Last run for Ewing, Oak, Starks, Mason, Harper
97 - Ewing, Oak, LJ, Houston, Starks, Childs
98 - Ewing goes down (late '97, but comes back for playoffs)
99 - Spree, Camby and KT come aboard (bye, Starks, and Oak)
00 - Ewing's last Knick run
00 to 04 - gets a little hazy here, did I just have a bad dream?

Camby was traded for Oak.

Starks was in the Spree trade.

It was questioned whether patrick made the team better or not!

The 99 run was a bit flukey. Were were very very small. SPree was SF, Larry Power forward and Camby was a stick.

The Spurs blew us out! It was a nice run, JVG did a hell of a job coming out of the east!

Soon we'll remember the 1990s with

Ewing-C
Reed-PF
King-Sf
Frazier-Pg
Marbs-SG
