lets say 30-40 and the spurs just squeeze into the playoffs, we could be looking at picks 14-17--if we happen to be bad, we could have 2 picks in the top 15 in this scenario--that would put us in an enviable position for many scenarios. I was thinking about this in regards to any more acquistion before the season. I dont want to give up that pick for james jones, a guy who hasnt proven much--if isiiah wants him that bad????? we already have to many guys, but if he has to spend the loot, just offer the LLE. Indiana wont match because they have like 4 SFs. I think it would add to our congestion, but he could also represent a trade pawn at the halfway point.

I agree Briggs. To me that would be a mistake to make that trade. If we do end up with two top 15 picks,we could probably use that to move up into a top 5 pick and get a legit shot at Rudy gay, or another big..

I was wondering the same thing. I don't get where these ideas come from. The only player Isiah has ever given up a 1st rd pick to acquire was Stephon Marbury. There's just no basis for a statement that he even might give up a 1st rd pick for someone like James Jones

I would much prefer an injurt to Corey Maggette so we had a shot at Elton Brand. If we're wishing injuries on people.

Let's sign Worm for the vet min and see what he can do to Duncan's knee.

Worm gets suspended for the season.

We get good picks. Great investment.

^ Wouldn't make a difference. Clipps now have an actual interest at hand, with the signing of Mobley, etc. Brand won't be traded.

Duncan probably wouldn't go down for any longer than he usually does. And even then, come playoff time, what you think will happen....... SEMIS at least. Face it, there's a reason the Spurs were willing to fork those picks over. They knew they would never be anything more than late 1st round. I'm perfectly happy with that, but just tryin to point out the facts here...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
