just look at that team.

how the hell does he still have a job? outside of drafting KG and steph, and the go for broke cassell and spree move 2 years ago, this guy has been pretty awful. oh, and signing center eric riley too, but outside of those moves, this guy has been running the show like herman munster.

without reading all of this, yes. He drafted KG, and traded for Steph, after that I would say his moves were bad or at best decent.

Wally is super overpaid.
Terrell Brandon was a nice pickup, but got hurt, unfortunately.
Steph wanted to leave, McHale can't help that.

He seems to have that old Knicks philosophy, sign good lpayers who are past their primes. Cassell, Spreewell helped them big, but are 2 older players and thats not who KG should be surrounded with.

He signed almost nothing but bums, during his whole tenure, and has not drafted well, except for KG and Steph; which are major accomplishments in and of themselves, but not enough over the course of 10 years. He has had the time to make Minny a championship calibur team. A dynasty even, if he drafted better.

Him, Layden, or Babcock.

I'd have to list him 3rd only b/c from what I've heard he doesn't make that many internal decisions...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I don't think McHale is that great of a GM but I will say that I think that deal that he signed Joe Smith too, the one that was voided by the NBA becuase it was illegal. This deal strapped the T'Wolves for year becuase the NBA took away their draft picks so they were never able to bring in young talent, only sign or trade players. I think that really hurt them. I think McHales time in Minnesota should be ending though unless they win something becuase he's got nothing to show for 10+ years of building except Garnett.

Elgin Baylor has made the playoffs twice in his 19 years as the Clippers GM. No one else is even close to that bad.

that didn't make him a bad gm. not being able to sign the players thanks to sterling was the reason the clips were so bad.

mchale nearly DESTROYED the franchise with the joe smith fiasco. that wasted 4 years of KG's career. hey, KG re-upped with them so whatever happens to him for the rest of his career, he can't complain. but mchale has done a pitiful job there.

i mean seriously, this is his TENTH season there. wow.

Puts IT's time here in perspective!

10 years with KG as the centerpiece of your franchise and you can't do a better job of building a winner?

Should have blown it up previous year after they failed to make it to the finals

Active owner who totally messed up with the joe smith thing. Lost two first round picks? And joe smith?

Malik Sealy, the heart and soul of the team died.

They went to conf finals two seasons ago which very few teams are able to get that far.

KG is a salary hog for a small market team.

Terrel blowing his knee out.

KG I think has been very immature as a far as being a leader. They put too much on him too soon (leadership). Sealy was his mentor and really broke up the soul of that franchise.

They went to finals by signing with the devil regarding Latrell and Sam. Two selfish players whom are great talents, but did not further the organization.

How can McHale sign anyone worth anything when Garnett makes ALL THE MONEY????

You know how Da Kid gets down!

hahahaha.

But seriously tho, Nalod pointed out some good facts that would give most GM's a kool-aid pass.

He doesn't make more than Jordan and they always managed.

He doesn't make more than Shaq and they managed to pay him AND Kobe and fill in with championship role players.

SA managed to pay Duncan and Robinson.

I don't buy it.

Plus I have a problem with part of KG's game. He doesn't dominate scoring-wise when he needs to. It's his role - he doesn't step up.

Once again, the only commentator I see point this out, and right to his face, is Barkley. Does it in a nice enough way, but tells the truth. (I know this isn't a Barkley thread, I just love the guy).

Marv, Marv, Marv...

Chicago had all the pieces in place when MJ began to make money.

Duncan and Robinson were already there.

Kobe and Shaq were already there.

KG doesn't have a boy wonder. I see you forgot to mention that part. Now if they were to try and get a boy wonder, how would they get him?
A sign and trade? Nope. Who could they trade? Free Agency? Nope. What do they have to offer?

Spurs drafted Ginobilli and Parker. Nalod layed out the blueprint of Brandon and Sealy and all the other draft picks they never had.

You drink your kool-aid straight, don't you!

Garnett leads the team in every single category...and you actually have the audacity to find fault because he doesn't dominate scoring-wise.

If he did that then you would say he doesn't make his teammates better...when YOU KNOW how Da Kid gets down!!!! You know it Marv!

He leads the league in rebounds, name another player who did that and dominated scoring-wise???

You want the man to kill himself out there on the court, don't you

Entertaining response.

But you're wrong on one thing - i always take my kool-aid with tequila. yes!

But where does kool-aid enter into a dicusssion on Minnesota anyway?

They had 2 freaking boy wonders and the morons tossed them both off!!

Who told them to trade Ray Allen and a #1? Would he and KG have made a pretty nice combo over the years?

And who told them to lay down when Steph got all pissy with them? They should have told him to STFU and continued building a championship squad.

And to throw their future away on Joe F'g Smith? That's BEYOND moronic.

Now re: KG. Hell yeah he should score when the game's on the line. I don't care how many f'g rebounds he does or doesa't have. You're a f'g 7-foot HOF'er and the game's on the line put the MF'g ball in the hoop.

Man doesn't do it when he needs to.
