I was just looking around the league.....the Wizards have Jarvis Hayes.....he's coming off injury, but the kid can play. The salaries match because they are still on the rookie scale.
That's just one idea.
Are there any other possibilities?

no trading sweets this season. he could be part of our future for the next 8 years. he's under contract for 2 more seasons. he's not able to walk after this season so hold onto him and see what we have.
sometimes, drafting an awesome 6th man is perfectly fine also.

Sweetney may finally become the "player" he was at Georgetown. He is young and talented. The Knicks must give him time to put it all together. They must.

Sweets does several things very well. He has a great back to the basket game. His spin moves give him good looks against bigger defenders. He makes his shots inside and is very good at drawing fouls. He is also the best rebounder on this team. He needs lose some weight, learn to play better defense and avoid fouls. As was pointed out, he could become a fine starter. I wouldn't trade him at this point.

Here's a "Bright Idea"....Don't trade him. Wait until next season before we make that kind of decision. Btw, GEEZUS ain't got nuthin to do with it. You know he lives in Bed Stuy right?

Personally I'm voting no way to trading Sweets. We still have no idea where his, Big Game's and Superfrye's games are gonna be this year. Let's give eveyone a chance and see where the numbers are gonna fall out for PT for our 4 and 5. The more Game and Butler can play at the 5, the more Frye needs minutes at 4, etc. Or the other way around.
I'm not happy about relying too much on Maurice or Malik.
I want a chance to see what Lee has.
A lot of intriguing things going on for our frontline. Let's continue to see what Sweets can develop.

Ya I agree. Unless an irresistable deal rolls along, we shouldn't be trading our youngins just yet. Look what happened to Joe Johnson after Boston dealt him prematurely...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure.
And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I'm interested to see how good he really can be. I would trade him in a package if we could get an all-star forward, but i like Sweetney and i hope he pans out. We're definitely not trading him for a dime-a-dozen swingman like Hayes.
