Could possibly help us since they'll be more likely to move a guy like Harrington...

The Mets won last nite. This could be good for the Knicks because they don the same colors.

Sorry, it is pretty ridiculous of me to speculate the effect on the Knicks if a big free agent gets dealt on a website devoted solely to the Knicks.

Phoenix is hurting.

Ive seen a lot of nutso posts that Pheonix is hurting, the Knicks are better than the Suns--well lets go like this

How many teams hav a better frontline than Kurt Thomas and Amare Stoudemire?not many if any

How many teams have a SF as good as Sean Marion? very few

How many teams have as good a pG as Steve Nash--answer none

The Suns were great last year, but the model that was built was 5 guys and very little bench and while it was spectacular during last season, I don't think its built to win in the playoffs. IMHO, they were the best team last year, but one spark plug went out and in their style of play, they couldnt afford it. Now they can play many ways, up tempo halfcourt, use more guys, different attacking angles, better rebounding and defense

they sit pretty with draft picks a 6.1 mm$ trade exmption to improve the team this year and beyond as well. I do think a James Jones, a Gerald wallace combined with a Gary Payton to add depth and a certain skill set would help the team and they can sit waiting for when the NO Hornets dump Magliore because they are stocked with a nice set of picks. Its the team that goes to the playoffs, not necessarily the team that starts the season, but as is, with a few extra tweaks, they look as good as any team in the league, still top 5.

Briggs, it is not who is better on paper but who is better when it counts on the court.. In all honesty, I still think the spurs, Rockets, dallas, and maybe denver could be as good as the suns out west...

If KT is now in a rotation that you considered one of the best in the league. How do you rate the Knicks' frontline before he was traded?
You are right on about the starters though. I think Phoenix will come back to earth this season but I also thought they played overacheived last season though. Stoudamire, Marion, and Nash would be a killer starting unit against any team. Although I think their outside shooting and speed will be hurt by the depatures of JJ and Q. I don't think Bell and Thompson will be the answer.

I'd say Ben and Sheed are as good.

Shaq and Haslem too. Shaq dominates KT as much as Amare does Haslem.

Duncan and Nazr are as good a tandem.

Pierce.
2 of 'em on Jersey - Carter and RJ.
Lebron
Artest
Kirilenko

Just Kidd.

Jeez it's starting to look like JERSEY'S the best team in the league

as they currently are, yes phoenix is hurting. i'd like to see all there starters log 48 minutes. there is no way you can judge a team as being better with only 8 guys under contract.

I'm not sure I understand what Phoenix's offseason plan was going into the offseason because they have traded players left and right and as of now only signed one free-agent and thats Brian Grant. Like Jay said, they only have 8 players under contract and free agent pool is starting to dwindle. I wouldn't be surprised if they signed someone like Ron Mercer but the way I see it, they have 7 more roster spots to fill with the crop of free-agents starting to dwindle.

The reason Phoenix lost last year was because they didnt play Defense and they didn't have any sort of bench. So far this offseason they have picked up a pretty decent defensive player in Kurt Thomas but also lost Joe Johnson, their best man on man defender and have done nothing to help their bench play, aside from signing Brian Grant but that doesnt help solve JJ's departure because their guards are going to be absolutely lit up all game long with the way things look right now. No defense = no winning.

They have Amare......end of ****in story.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I know some of you feel that way but I don't. he's a terrific young player but he's going nowhere without a real strong and balanced team around him.

I agree Marv. He's also not going anywhere until he learns to play some defense. You can score all the points in the world but until he starts playing Defense he's not going to win anything.
