ald Wallace? It might be a little more money, but so far Charlotte has been cheap with him. He still 23 and he really came on last year. he hustles, plays tremendous defense, hes an exceptional athlete, he can really rebound, hes got length he plays two miles above thr rim

james jones is an average athlete who had a couple of minutes during the season. Gerald Wallace played a consistent FULl season and even in part time minutes with a very good Sacremento team he showed much better than Jones.

If this guy is looking for 4-4.5 mm$--couldnt we do something with jackie butler and sundov in a S+T throw in 3mm cash and the SA pick for wallace signed to a 5 yr 22.5mm$ contract?

I like Gerald Wallace. He can do everything but shoot.

He played against Ariza this year and they went at each other pretty good. Gerald is more nastier than Ariza but they are pretty much the same player.

I wouldn't mind getting him but James Jones makes more sense because he can actually shoot......If Gerald could shoot he would be a house hold name. Right now he is a more athletic, nastier version of Shandon Anderson.

Isiah wants James Jones b/c he used to coach him on the Pacers. Hopefully LB intervenes and gets Wallace, that guy is a lockdown defender, something the Knicks haven't had in years.

You're right Enyspree. I'd take this guy because of his D mainly. I'm sure LB and Isiah are looking at all defensive minded players who work hard. Gerald falls into that category. He's a defenitely something to think about.

we have playmakers and scorers.. we need wing guys that can defend and board. He would be a perfect fit... only problem is we have nothing to offer aside from picks. Is TT, cash and a lottery protected picks going to get it done?

I think 4.5 is too much IMHO. He's basically ariza with 3 more years under his belt. I'm more confident in Ariza's ability to develop a consistent mid range jumper at 20. At this oint, they have the same defensive ability IMHO.

But do we want to commit that much? This James kid is gonna cost like $1.5 right?

so its OK to give a 30 year old that averages 5 points and 4 rebs $30mm and 5 years, but $4.5 is too much for a 23 year old uber athletic defensive wing player with a very solid all around game, thats twice as productive.

two wrongs don't make a right...we have ariza and Q, I'm happy with that SF combo...anybody added to that depth chart should be CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP.
