I say throw it all at Eddy Curry. Its free money, and I think Curry's worth a gamble.

Any other candidates?

No b/c Houstons not retiring (un-****in-fortunately)
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

How about no one. Lets just play the 14 players we have right now.

Curry is a worthwhile investment... if not Calvin Booth is for 5 years $30mm. I mean, 1 year would probably do it, but why only get him for 1, if we can have him for 5?

Getting the medical exception is a lengthy process, and it appears that H20 wil at least TRY to make a go of it in training camp before officialy retiring. It may not be available until later in the season. Which is fine from the Knicks perspective. Since it is a tradeable exception, the best candidates for it would be in trades at or around the deadline, not the leftovers of the FA market.

Agreed. I think its best used as another trading chip.

you'd still be cheaper than JYD. (jokes...I fully expect islesfan to retort, he lurks looking for my responses)

Curry. Heck, what are our options?

I would spend that MLE locking up Ariza to a 3 year contract with a Team option for a 4th and 5th year....

Next year we will have no MLE since we HAVE to use it on Ariza to match his other offers...

Unless I'm mistaken, isn't Ariza knx property through at least 3rd year under new CBA. Then Bird rights kick in?

I don't think so, I think the new CBA says we can match only if we have the MLE available. If ariza is doing what I expect him to be doing, the MLE is his.

probably best option- as mentioned, this exemption won't be available until late in season. And with Penny & TT and their big contracts, we probably wouldn't need to use it then.

Too bad Spree torched his bridges- he could of been a nice pick up...
