OK i hear alot of your are worried about our glut at pf and sg/sf area. But lets put it this way, the only bad thing about this is the players might whine. but there are many positives

-competition- the way players get better, play better and work harder is when their job is on the line. with these many players at these spots there are going to be some battles.

-trading chips- with this many people we can afford to lose a player for a draft pick or trade for someone else without worrying that we need to fill the same position

-depth- in case of injury we have someone who can fill in where we need

-balance- well lets look at what we have a sg/sf-
crawford- young, athletic, raw talent, streaky shooter, can play d if he tries, pretty good passer, can run the floor and finish
q rich- can pop the trey, good post up player, can run the floor and finish
h20- he might not be back but if he is he is a sharp shooter plain and simple set a pick for him its good as good
ariza- cant shoot but plays defense, can finish among the best, and plays hard
tt- well we know he is talented contract year might prove to be his best as a pro, can shoot, post up and finish when he wants

as you can see alot of balance in our sg/sf's this can only help us against certain matchups

pf
mo t- well can score but doesnt play too hard
malik- great defender can bound and play pf/c, avg finisher, intangibles
frye- young, athletic, can block shots, can shoot
sweets- big, can bound, can finish,

i think the most important thing to do is trust the coaching staff and how they will balance everything out. we cant be too worried about the players and their happiness if they work hard they will play. Thats the way brown coaches unlike some of our other coaches who played people because of talent alone. Brown do your thing

Good argument versus viewing those positions as a glut. IMO there will be another move before opening night, not including Allan's (hopefully) possible retirement.

In addition, we're about to sign Diop, unless the news was updated since I last checked. That pickup will help deepen lengthen our frontcourt.

I guess the next topic behind about 20 threads will explore our impending glut at the 5?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

yo, at least we have solid to decent players at the 1 through 4. if these guys were on any other team, we'd be saying holla back...

Please. We have MARBURY NOW. Not Ward. Not Childs. Not Eisley. Not Frankie "Baby" Williams. We have MARBURY. He's a baller. He's mega-talented.

We have Crawford, who pulls T-mac moves on the court. How many ballers can throw it off the backboard against NBA "D" and dunk. Twice. Coming from a PG or an undersized SG?

We have Nate Rob, who has Huge hops and can dunk on ANYONE.

We have a fat young PF in Sweets that can score in the post against ANYONE.

We have Q Rich, a player that many wanted when he was on the clipps, and can post up, hit the J, Drive and rebound. Basically everything we ever wanted out of a SG. He can also hold down the SF.

We've got Rose, who has been on championship teams and can pull some big games out sometimes, backing up at PF.

We have TT who has massive talent untapped. He can be Gazy and if he is gazy this year, he's gonna be a pine-soul brother, that's for sure. And for proper punishment, he's not gonna get any playing time and not be able to get another mega contract. He knows that if he plays this year right, he's gonna get the Bucks like Milwaukee...

We have Frye, a guy we can groom to be a center or who can steal the PF spot from Sweets. Finally a post player not undersized. For all the Bynum talk, we need help now.

We have Jerome James, who is either Big Snacks or Big Game. Either he comes correct, or he'll be dealt for some draft picks. To the raptors. Let him freeze his @$$ in Toron-no...

David Lee, he knows to bring energy or he's playing in huntsville in some back-@$$ south city riding a bus with guys from JuCo trying to make the L in the "D" League... this guy is gonna be more hustle and flow than a fake pimp turned rapper.

Bruno, he's gonna be on the IR.

Allan, either he's gonna come back like the basketball Hay-seus or LB is gonna run him through sick drills until he quits.

Ariza who many people think is the truth, and still the youngest knick ever, at 19. Serious game like Street Fighter 2. Wait until he gets a J...

Furthermore, Jackie B, is gonna be a sweet practice player. A kid still. He was unstoppable and will still be unstoppable in garbage time this year.

Penny - that b!atch is still gonna be kicking game on his PS2 from the hotel room - kid is done.

(remix from that 80's song - I just died in your arms tonight)

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Season "O" night and the Celts died,
traded their whole roster for young guns,
all they got is Pierce left,
and Timmy T just murdered the Truth,
a 6-10 SF doing his thing well,
things been outta place since the Gazy issue,
on the back of the Post,
Timmy T knows revenge well,
Patterson kid with a smirk on his face,
We forgive you kid,
it wasn't your fault,
for the 2004-2005 season you lived through,
all the drama you brought,
IT knows you gonna produce this year,
it's the same game you know,
before all the ones you lost,
we gonna save a spot for you on the pine,
if you dont break it off...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Forget Phil,
The triangle,
LB, we got you,
pound for pound,
holding it down on the sidelines,
the best coach,
he's about to turn the game on upside down,
like a twisted L,
picture the same game he taught,
brought the clipps to the playoffs after a draught,
done things never been thought,
now in the Garden,
it's gonna be of a different sort,
the industry and GMs may hate him,
he was just trying to double his dollars,
happy when the IT and the Knicks said "holla",
truth be told,
if he had MJ and Shaq,
he'd be the greatest ever,
still hustlin' since,
he knows what he's up against,
he wanted to get richer and coach the Knicks,
for Brown,
that's a win-win,
so next time you see a new yorker and his rims spin,
know that LB's mind works just like him...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Nate Rob, Lee and Frye,
you didnt know them that well,
but damn,
after the draft Briggs cried,
didnt get Bynum - oh well,
between the two summer leagues,
Vegas and Minny, well,
after the games played,
50's twin held it down,
even Frye with game on eggshells,
no players pretending to be hurt,
same game they knew,
same spalding, same court,
the rooks destroyed all defenses they caught,
if Nate was 6-4, he'd be Wade's twin,
still at 5-9 he's got nine-five heart...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Allan Houston, Penny, JYD,
the Knicks about to no longer be,
you know what happens in NY when you're past tense,
when you think back to Ewing and his knees iced,
remember their ends are gonna be just like him,
What's with the game,
Egg on Dolan's face,
Damn, not IT's game,
Standing in the tunnel,
Executing his plan while keeping his job,
When you from the South Side of Chi-town,
any man's face is just like your face,
you want to keep you job,
never want to get burned again like Indy-end,
gotta do what the boss-man says,
Save a place on the sidelines,
after LB's gone,
when we need you messiah...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Marbury is gonna have to tone it down,
give up the point-guardsmanship,
be a leader on the floor at SG,
Brooklyn's finest,
you've got to decide what's most important,
you can help this squad if you're on the bench,
know what you're up against,
use that fire against the L,
drill and drive,
forget dishin' em,
you always have scored with the best of them...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Ariza, turn the lights up,
you're the youngest Knick on the block,
all you gotta do is ball,
in the Tayshaun mold,
defender when we switch to zone,
finish at the rim,
stars are scared,
didnt even need both summer L's,
your stats were stacked...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Big Game James,
you're strong enough to carry the team on your back,
fans want to see you come out leading the low post attack,
nothing less than the ferocity from the Sac-series,
or else on this board you'll be known as whack,
we dont want to believe you scammed Knicks brass that well,
this squad needs a C,
KT and Nazr held that down since Ewing ghosted to Seattle,
you've been criticized before,
pull a double double and we'll holla,
7 foot stiff mid-level exception man,
James wont be one of them...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

Q Rich we got you,
your broken back, Brandy and all,
you were on the trading block,
IT picked you up,
now it's time to ball,
coming from the clipps,
you almost had a trophy on your wall,
now east coast is all you have,
Small forward, SG,
three pointers and dunks,
you got it all,
turn that game up,
prepare for war...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

EC finals and beyond,
Knicks with LB fear no team,
here we go...

The League just died in our arms tonight... must have been the game we played... (repeat 4x)

holy schnikey's - this is a candidate for post of the year.

so far, there are two candidates so far:

1. the astrological breakdown of the knicks - dide
2. the league just died in your arms tonight - caseloads

quick, somebody find dido's post and make a sticky for post of the year and put this one on it also.
